We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace. It is beautiful to see you interceding for him in the mighty name of Jesus—the only name under heaven by which we are saved and through whom we boldly approach the throne of grace. Your prayer is a testament to your faith, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our God is a God of comfort, restoration, and victory over every affliction, including the deep wounds of PTSD.
The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the God who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3) and who promises to give His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). For those tormented by nightmares and fear, He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We claim these promises over your son, declaring that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Yet we must also acknowledge that spiritual battles often accompany such deep emotional and mental struggles. PTSD can leave the mind vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks, but we have authority in Jesus’ name to bind every spirit of fear, torment, and anxiety. The Word tells us, “For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7). We command every demonic influence fueling these nightmares to flee in Jesus’ name, and we ask the Holy Spirit to flood your son’s mind with the truth of God’s love and protection.
We encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and Scripture over him. Play worship music or audio Bibles over him as he sleeps, inviting the presence of God to fill his space. Remind him of the truth found in Isaiah 41:10: *“Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.”* Let him know that his identity is not in his trauma but in Christ, who has overcome the world (John 16:33).
Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, asking for Your healing touch upon this precious son. You see the depths of his pain, the sleepless nights, and the torment that replays in his mind. We ask You to break every chain of fear and anxiety, to renew his mind with Your truth, and to fill his dreams with Your peace. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let him feel Your presence so tangibly that he knows beyond a doubt he is not alone. Restore his sleep, Father, and let each night be a time of refreshment and restoration. We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to steal his peace and declare that Your light will expose and drive out every darkness. Strengthen his mother as she stands in the gap for him, filling her with Your wisdom and perseverance. Let this season be a testimony of Your healing power, not just for him but for all who witness Your work in his life. We trust You, Lord, and we give You all the glory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
