We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace in the mighty name of Jesus. The battles he faces in his mind from PTSD are real, but we serve a God who is greater than any trauma, fear, or torment. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten by the Father, and we stand in agreement that the Lord will draw near to him in this season of suffering.
The nightmares that plague his sleep are not from God, for He is the giver of perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3 declares, *"You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you."* We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment that seeks to steal his rest, and we command peace to flood his mind and heart in Jesus’ name. Let him experience the truth of Psalm 4:8: *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."*
We also encourage you to speak life and Scripture over your son daily. Remind him of God’s promises, such as 2 Timothy 1:7: *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* If he has not already, we urge him to seek godly counseling or support from brothers and sisters in Christ who can walk with him through this valley. There is no shame in seeking help—it is wise and biblical to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in Your power to heal and restore. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals. We ask that You touch our brother’s mind, body, and spirit, removing every trace of trauma and replacing it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard his sleep, Lord, and let his dreams be filled with Your presence, not the echoes of his past. Surround him with Your angels, as Psalm 91:11 promises: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
We also pray for you, his parent, that You would fill you with strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith as you intercede for him. Let your home be a place of refuge, covered by the blood of Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit’s comfort. May your son encounter the love of Christ in such a tangible way that he is forever changed.
Lord, we ask all these things in the name above every name—the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to Your throne, and it is only by His wounds that we are healed (1 Peter 2:24). Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not just for your son, but for all who witness his restoration. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, for You alone are worthy. Amen.
