We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and rest in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children with fear and distress, but our God is greater. He is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and He is faithful to restore what has been broken. Let us stand together on the promises of Scripture, trusting that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in your son’s life.
The Word of God assures us in **Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB)**, *“The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.”* Your son is not forgotten; the Lord sees his pain and is near to him. We also claim **Psalm 121:3-4 (WEB)**, which declares, *“He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”* The God who never sleeps is watching over your son, guarding his mind and his heart even in the darkest hours of the night.
Yet we must also recognize that spiritual battles often accompany such struggles. Nightmares and tormenting thoughts can be weapons of the enemy, seeking to steal peace and joy. But we have authority in Christ to resist these attacks. **2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB)** reminds us, *“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”* We bind every spirit of fear, trauma, and torment in Jesus’ name and declare that your son’s mind is being renewed by the truth of God’s Word.
We also encourage you to speak life over your son daily. Remind him of **Isaiah 41:10 (WEB)**, *“Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.”* Let him know that his identity is not in his struggles but in Christ, who has overcome the world. If he has not yet surrendered his life fully to Jesus, now is the time to invite Christ to be his Lord and Savior, for true peace is found only in Him. **John 16:33 (WEB)** says, *“I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”*
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to Your throne of grace. You are the God who heals, and we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him—body, soul, and spirit. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, trauma, and torment that has sought to steal his peace. We command these nightmares to cease in the name of Jesus Christ, for Your Word says in **1 John 4:18 (WEB)**, *“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.”* Fill his mind with Your perfect love, Lord, and let his dreams be filled with Your light and truth.
Father, we ask for divine protection over him as he sleeps. Station Your angels around him, as **Psalm 91:11 (WEB)** promises, *“For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.”* Let him wake refreshed, renewed, and strengthened in You. Give him a supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those caring for him. Lead them to the right resources, godly counsel, and medical help if needed, that he may receive the support necessary for his healing. Above all, Lord, draw him closer to You. If there is any area of his life that is not surrendered to You, convict his heart and lead him to repentance. May he find his refuge and strength in You alone.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for his good (**Romans 8:28**). We declare healing, protection, and rest over him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear one. Do not grow weary in praying for your son, for the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person avails much (**James 5:16**). Keep speaking God’s Word over him, and trust that the Lord is fighting for him, even when you cannot see it. We are with you in this battle, and we believe that God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in your son’s life.
