Healing, protection, sleep

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray for healing and protection for my ### son, please comfort him and help him sleep without the nightmares from PTSD. Fill his dreams with Your love and light, in Jesus' name, Amen

We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the Protector of His children, and the Prince of Peace who guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. The trials of PTSD are deep and painful, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Your prayer is already aligned with the will of God, as you have come before Him in the name of Jesus, the only name under heaven by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father.

The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* And in Psalm 121:3-4, we are assured, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* Your son is not forgotten by God, nor is he left to face these struggles alone. The Lord sees his pain and is working even now to bring restoration.

We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* This is the rest your son needs—rest for his body, mind, and spirit. The nightmares that plague him are not from the Lord but are the result of living in a fallen world where sin and suffering exist. Yet, even in this, God is sovereign and can turn what the enemy means for harm into something that brings glory to His name. We pray that your son would experience the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

It is also important to encourage your son to draw near to the Lord through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. The Word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), and it has the power to renew his mind and bring healing to his soul. If he is not already immersed in a community of faith, we urge you to help him find a Bible-believing church where he can be surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who can support him in prayer and accountability.

Let us pray together for your son:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and earnest hearts, lifting up this precious son to You. Lord, You know the depths of his pain, the weight of his struggles, and the fear that grips him in the night. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon him, Lord—restore his mind, his emotions, and his body. Break the power of PTSD over his life and replace his nightmares with visions of Your love, Your peace, and Your goodness.

Father, we pray for Your protection over him, that You would surround him with Your angels and shield him from the attacks of the enemy. Let him sleep in safety, knowing that You neither slumber nor sleep. Fill his dreams with Your presence, Lord, and let him wake with a sense of Your peace and purpose for his life.

We also pray for his heart, that he would draw near to You in this time of need. Give him a hunger for Your Word and a desire to seek You above all else. Let him find comfort in Your promises and strength in Your truth. If there is any bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness in his heart, Lord, we ask that You would soften him and lead him to release it all to You. Help him to forgive as You have forgiven us, so that he may walk in freedom and healing.

Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly people who can encourage him, pray for him, and walk alongside him in this journey. Give him the courage to share his struggles and the faith to believe that You are working all things together for his good.

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who heals, who restores, and who redeems. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, knowing that You will never leave him nor forsake him. May he experience Your love in a tangible way and may his life be a testimony of Your grace and power.

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your son with faith and persistence. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Trust that the Lord is at work, even when you cannot see it, and that He will complete the good work He has begun in your son (Philippians 1:6). Keep pointing him to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, and remind him that his identity and hope are found in Christ alone.
