We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know how deeply it can wound the mind and spirit, disrupting even the rest that God intends for His children. Yet we take heart in the promise of Psalm 34:18, which declares, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten by God—He sees his pain, and His heart is moved with compassion.
We also cling to Psalm 4:8, which assures us, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* This is our prayer for your son—that the Lord would surround him with His peace, a peace that transcends understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). The nightmares that haunt him are not from God, for He does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and soundness of mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke these tormenting dreams in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding them to flee, for greater is He who is in your son than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Healing is a process, and we encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and Scripture over him. Remind him of Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let him know that his struggles do not define him—Christ does. If he has not already, we urge him to seek godly counseling or support from brothers and sisters in Christ who can walk alongside him in this season. There is no shame in needing help; even the apostle Paul had companions to strengthen him in his weaknesses.
We also lift you up, dear parent, for the weight you carry in interceding for your son. May the Lord refresh your spirit and fill you with hope as you trust in Him. Remember that your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16), and the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, asking for Your divine touch upon this precious son. Lord Jesus, You bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Matthew 8:17), and we ask that You would stretch out Your hand to heal him. Break the chains of PTSD that bind his mind and replace his nightmares with visions of Your love and truth. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, flood his heart and mind as he sleeps. Protect him from every attack of the enemy, and let him wake refreshed, renewed, and aware of Your presence.
We pray for divine appointments—godly people to come alongside him, medical professionals with wisdom, and brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage him. Give him the courage to surrender his pain to You, Lord, and to receive the comfort only You can provide. Strengthen his faith, and let him know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is deeply loved by You.
Father, we also ask that You would surround this family with Your grace. Unify them in faith and love, and let them be a testimony of Your healing power. We declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You, Lord, are his healer, his protector, and his peace.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his story of redemption and healing. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
