We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and rest in the mighty name of Jesus. The battles of the mind can be fierce, especially when tormented by the lingering wounds of trauma, but we serve a God who is greater than any affliction. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten—God sees his pain, and His heart is tender toward him.
The nightmares he faces are not from the Lord but are attacks from the enemy, who seeks to steal peace and joy. Yet we stand on the promise of 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We declare that spirit of fear broken in Jesus’ name! Let the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). May the Lord replace every terrifying image with visions of His love, His truth, and His victory over darkness. As it is written in Psalm 4:8, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."*
We also encourage you to speak life over your son daily, reminding him of who he is in Christ—a conqueror, a child of the Most High, redeemed and protected. If he has not yet surrendered his burdens fully to Jesus, now is the time. True healing comes when we invite the Lord into our brokenness, allowing Him to restore what has been shattered. Let him cast all his anxieties on God, *"because he cares for him"* (1 Peter 5:7).
Father God, we come before You with boldness, asking for Your healing hand to rest upon this son. Touch his mind, Lord, and drive out every tormenting spirit that seeks to harm him. Fill his dreams with Your presence—let him see angels encamped around him (Psalm 34:7), let him hear Your voice speaking peace over his storms. Break the power of PTSD in his life and replace it with Your supernatural peace. We ask for divine protection over his body, soul, and spirit, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Give him restful, uninterrupted sleep, and let him wake refreshed, knowing You are his strength and shield.
We also lift up this mother who intercedes so faithfully. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your hope as she trusts You for her son’s deliverance. Let her see Your hand moving mightily in his life.
In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray—*the name above every name, the name at which every knee must bow (Philippians 2:10).* May Your will be done, and may Your glory be revealed through this situation. Amen.
