We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he battles the deep wounds of PTSD. The nightmares and sleeplessness he endures are not God’s will for him, and we stand firmly on the promise that Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free. The enemy seeks to torment him with fear and memories of trauma, but we declare that the power of Christ is greater, and He alone can restore what has been stolen.
The Word tells us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten—God sees his pain, and His heart is tender toward him. We also claim **Psalm 4:8**, which says, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* Let this be his testimony: that even in the darkest nights, the Lord guards his mind and grants him rest.
Yet we must also acknowledge that true healing begins with surrender to Christ. If your son has not yet placed his full trust in Jesus as his Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him. There is no lasting peace apart from Christ, and it is only through His name that we have authority to rebuke the spirits of fear and torment that plague him. **Acts 4:12** reminds us, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If he is already a believer, we encourage him to draw near to the Lord in this season, to fill his mind with Scripture, and to cast every anxious thought upon Jesus, who cares for him (**1 Peter 5:7**).
We also rebuke the spirit of PTSD in Jesus’ name—every lie, every tormenting memory, every sleepless night must bow to the authority of Christ. The Lord did not give him a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (**2 Timothy 1:7**). Let him speak life over himself, declaring that his mind is renewed in Christ (**Romans 12:2**) and that the blood of Jesus covers his dreams.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken yet hopeful hearts for this son. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we ask that You stretch out Your hand over him now. Touch his mind, Lord, and remove every trace of trauma that the enemy has used to bind him. Replace his nightmares with visions of Your goodness, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**). Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against him prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**).
Give him restorative sleep, Father—deep, unbroken rest where his body and soul are refreshed. Let him wake with strength, with joy, and with the assurance that You are fighting for him. Fill his home with Your presence, and let every word spoken over him be life-giving. If there are areas of unforgiveness, bitterness, or unresolved pain, bring them to the surface so he can release them at the foot of the cross.
We also lift up this mother who intercedes for her son. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your wisdom as she supports him. Let her words be seasoned with grace, and let her faith be a beacon of hope for her family. Unite them in prayer, and let their home be a place where Your name is glorified.
We declare that this season of suffering will not be in vain. You will turn his mourning into dancing (**Psalm 30:11**), and he will testify of Your faithfulness. Let him rise up in victory, equipped to help others who walk this same path, for Your glory alone.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray—**Amen.**
