Thank you for sharing your heart and asking for prayer for healing, protection, and provision. We bring these needs before the Lord together and ask Him to work according to His perfect wisdom and love.
Concerning healing, Scripture gives us a firm foundation to trust God while also walking in humility before Him. Matthew, writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, tells us that when Jesus healed many who were brought to Him, including Peter's mother in law and many others who were sick and oppressed, this was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Isaiah chapter 53 verse 4 is quoted there, and the understanding is that Christ's suffering on the cross reaches to both spiritual and physical need. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is My body which is broken for you, He invites us to remember that His body was given for our whole restoration.
At the same time we are not to presume that God wills physical healing in every case in this present life. The apostle Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove the thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the Lord did not remove it but answered that His grace was sufficient. That reminds us that God is sovereign and loving, and His answer may be healing, or sustaining grace, or a gradual work over time.
We do believe that God heals today and that He is able. All healing is from Him, whether it comes instantly, gradually, or through the natural processes He created within our bodies. Those processes themselves are divine, because He designed them. There are healings of the body, and also healings of the mind and emotions that He brings as we trust Him. The gifts of healing are real, but Scripture also asks, do all have gifts of healing, and the expected answer is no, for the body of Christ has many members with different gifts. When believers pray, anoint with oil and lay hands on the sick as Scripture teaches, it is not that there is power in the hand itself, but it gives a point to release faith to the Lord who alone heals. We want to avoid anything that is show or frenzy, and simply come quietly and sincerely to Jesus who used His power not for Himself but to meet the needs of others.
You also mentioned the desire to prosper and be in health. The verse in 3 John verse 2 where John writes I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers is often quoted as a promise, but it is actually John's loving wish and prayer for his friend Gaius, not a blanket guarantee of wealth or perfect health for every believer. Yet it does show a beautiful correlation that Scripture recognizes elsewhere. A merry heart does good like a medicine, and there is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. As we feed the spiritual life through prayer, the Word, and trust in Christ, and care wisely for our bodies, we often find strength for daily life.
For protection, we rest in the Lord who has authority in every realm. The Gospels show His power over sickness, over the material world when He calmed the wind and sea, and over the spiritual realm when He commanded evil spirits and they obeyed Him. Nothing is outside His rule. We also remember His words not to fear those who can harm the body only, but to have a deeper reverence for God who holds both body and soul in His hands, for spiritual life with Him is of far greater weight than physical safety alone. We can ask for His keeping power each day while trusting Him with the outcome.
For financial need, we ask God to provide for you according to His riches and wisdom. Scripture does not teach that faith guarantees wealth, and the early believers in Jerusalem learned that even generous sharing without wisdom can lead to financial hardship, as seen in the account of Ananias and Sapphira and the later need among the saints there. God does promise to care for His children, to supply what we need, and to teach us stewardship and contentment as we seek first His kingdom.
So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this dear one before You. You know every health concern, every burden and pain. Lay Your healing hand upon this life according to Your will, whether through a touch that is immediate or through gradual restoration by Your natural and supernatural means. Heal body, mind, and spirit, and give peace and a joyful heart that brings strength. We ask for Your protection over this life and household, guarding from harm and from the power of the enemy, and keeping this one close to You. We ask for Your provision, that You would open the right doors for work and supply, grant wisdom in stewardship, and meet daily needs so that there may be testimony to Your faithfulness. Above all, cause the soul to prosper in Christ, rooted in forgiveness and hope through His cross and resurrection. Teach us to trust You whether the answer is yes, wait, or Your sustaining grace for today. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.
If you are able, continue to seek the Lord in His Word and prayer, stay in fellowship with other believers, care for your body with rest and wise habits, and let us know how the Lord answers so we can thank Him with you.
