Healing prayer

We join with you in prayer as you recover from sickness and we ask the Lord to bring you complete restoration and strength.

We are reminded of how gracious our God is toward our bodies and souls. Scripture tells us to Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3. And the Lord declares For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. He is still Yahweh who heals you as He said in Exodus 15:26, and we cling to the promise that by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence for your healing.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. We thank You that You see their weakness and You know every detail of their sickness and recovery. We ask that You would touch their body with Your healing hand, restore their strength, give them peaceful rest and renewed energy day by day. Let Your healing virtue flow through them and remove any lingering infection, pain, or fatigue. We pray Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2. Grant wisdom to any doctors or caregivers involved and give this dear one patience and faith while they recover. Help them to rest in You and not be anxious, for You have promised when we are sick that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15. We pray for a full and speedy recovery that brings glory to You and we ask that this time of recovery would draw them even closer to You. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Healer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to rest, to nourish your body, to seek proper medical care as needed, and to spend time in the Word and in prayer letting the Lord renew your spirit as He renews your body. Trust in His timing and His love for you, for He is faithful and His mercies are new every morning.

Thank you for asking us to pray for you. Recovering can be its own kind of tired, even when the worst of being sick has passed, and we are glad you reached out.

We are praying for steady strength for you day by day, for rest that actually restores you, and for peace as your body continues to heal. It is understandable to want to feel fully yourself again quickly, and also normal when energy comes back unevenly for a little while. Take each day as it comes and give yourself grace in the process.

If you are still being seen by a doctor or clinic, we encourage you to keep them updated on how you are feeling as you recover, alongside prayer. And if you have family, friends, or others in your church nearby, let them know how you are doing so they can support you in practical ways. We are holding you in prayer here and are thankful you let us walk with you in this.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your gentle care over this recovery. Give wisdom to those caring for them, grant patience and encouragement in the days ahead, and draw them close to Your presence and peace. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We are thankful you have shared this burden and we count it a privilege to join you in prayer as you recover. To be laid aside by sickness tries both flesh and spirit, and we are glad you have turned to the Lord who hears prayer.

We are reminded that our Lord Jesus is the great Physician who took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. There is not a disease in the whole list of human ills which He cannot heal, and His power to heal is present still. He sent His Word and healed them, for Christ Himself is the Word whom the Father has sent for the healing of poor sin sick souls. Even the leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, so that the least thing about Christ has healing virtue for those who look to Him by faith. Tell your case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor, for He is ready to hear it all and to consider it.

Some teach falsely that all sickness must be a sign of special sin, but this is cruel and untrue, for whom the Lord loves He chastens. Whether He lifts the affliction at once or appoints a slower recovery, His government is wise and merciful. We have often found that recovery of strength comes little by little, and as you grow a little stronger and a little stronger, we pray you will acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection and praise.

Let us pray for you now. Our gracious Father, we thank You that You are the Sun of Righteousness who has risen with healing in Your wings, and that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction in Christ. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would lay Your hand upon this dear one, ease what still pains, restore strength to body and peace to mind, and grant a full recovery according to Your perfect will. Apply Your Word by Your Spirit to bring health to soul and body, guard from discouragement in the days of weakness, and make this season to work patience and deeper trust. And when You have healed, give a heart to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and to tell of the Good Physician's power to others. We ask this for Your glory and for good, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May the Lord strengthen you in your weakness and bring you to praise Him for His mercy when health is restored.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we are praying for you as you recover from sickness. We thank God that you are being restored and we ask Him to continue His healing work in you, to strengthen your body day by day and to bring you to full health.

Scripture reminds us to remember the Lord both in sickness and in health and to give Him glory in all things. Even when sickness comes, it is not outside His care, and He is able to use it to draw us closer to Himself and to show His mercy. As you regain strength, keep looking to Christ, trusting His goodness, and giving thanks for His care through every stage of recovery.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and Savior. We ask for Your mercy upon this one who is recovering. Lay Your healing hand upon them, grant continued recovery, give wisdom to those providing care, and grant patience and peace in this time. Restore health fully according to Your will, and draw their heart ever closer to You in trust and thankfulness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for letting us know you are recovering from sickness and for asking for prayer. We are praying for you and we are grateful that you are on the mend.

Scripture shows us that the Lord cares about the body as well as the soul. Matthew, writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, points to what happened when crowds came to Jesus at Peter's house in the evening and He healed many. Matthew connects that to the prophecy of Isaiah, that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. Isaiah's words are not limited to forgiveness of sin only. Matthew applies them to physical healing as well. That is why when Jesus broke bread He said this is My body broken for you. His suffering provided for our whole need. The Gospels also tell us that Jesus went through the cities and villages teaching and preaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people. He never used His power to meet His own physical needs, but He freely used it to meet the needs of others.

We believe God still heals today and that He is able to heal. At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. The Bible records one healing that happened gradually, which reminds us that God does not work in only one way. Sometimes healing is immediate, sometimes it comes step by step. Even the natural processes of recovery that He has built into our bodies are His work. The way our bodies mend is not less divine because it happens through natural means, since He is the one who created nature and its processes.

We also know that His ways are higher than ours and healing rests in His sovereign hands. It is wrong to put guilt on a person who is sick, as if a lack of faith is always the reason for continued illness. Even in the New Testament, Paul, through whom God did many miracles, spoke of a close companion who was sick nearly to death. Not every person is healed in the way or timing we might expect, and we should not claim that God must heal everyone instantly if we do enough. We trust His wisdom and His goodness while we continue to ask Him for mercy.

There is also a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John wrote to Gaius that he wished he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That was a loving wish, not a formal promise that guarantees perfect health, but it points to a true principle. Scripture says a joyful heart is good like medicine, and we are learning more and more how closely our inner peace and our physical strength are linked. As you continue to recover, rest in the Lord, keep your heart nourished by His word, and allow Him to bring renewed strength to both soul and body without striving or show.

We pray for you now. Father, we thank You for Your compassion and for the work of Jesus who bore our sins and our sicknesses. We ask You to continue Your healing work in this dear one who is recovering. Touch the body, ease any remaining weakness, restore full strength, and bring complete recovery in Your timing and according to Your will. Give peace of mind, comfort in heart, and confidence in Your care. Help every natural process of healing You have ordained to work fully, and let Your presence be felt as strength and encouragement each day. We trust You as the Great Physician and we thank You for Your love shown through Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the Lord continue to strengthen you day by day and bring you to full health. Please keep us updated so we can keep praying for you.
