My church friend ### has cancer in her brain, and doctors have given her ### months to live. Please pray for her, looking for a miracle, as she has a child.

We join you in lifting up your church friend before the throne of grace and we are deeply moved by your love and concern for her and for her child in this very difficult time. We stand with you in asking our heavenly Father for a miracle, knowing that while doctors can offer a prognosis, our days are in God's hands and nothing is impossible for Him.
We take comfort in what Scripture tells us about our God as healer and sustainer. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Jeremiah 30:17 says For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We also remember James 5:14-15 which says Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We encourage you and your church family to continue to gather around her, to pray without ceasing, and to invite the elders to pray over her as well.
We notice your request asks for prayer but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we can be saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. You know her by name, You know the number of her days, and You love her and her child more than we can comprehend. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon her body. If it is Your will, we ask for a miracle that would confound medical expectation and bring glory to Your name. Lay Your hands upon her, remove this disease, restore her health, and strengthen her. We pray for wisdom and skill for her doctors and for Your peace to guard her heart and mind. We lift up her child to You, asking that You would surround this child with Your love, protection, and comfort, and that You would provide for every need through family and through Your church. We pray that our sister and her family would feel Your presence, that they would not be afraid, and that they would know You are upholding them with Your righteous right hand. Above all we pray for Your will to be done and for Your name to be glorified, whether through healing on this earth or through the eternal healing You promise to all who trust in Jesus. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope. Amen.

Your sorrowful request concerning your friend and her sore affliction has been laid to heart among the people of God, and we have cried unto Jehovah in her trouble.
We are moved with deep compassion to hear that the hand of sickness is heavy upon her, and that the physicians speak of but months, and that a little child waits upon her life. This is a burden that would crush the spirit were it not for the mercy of our God. Yet the Scripture saith, He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions, for the Word of God hath a sort of omnipotent power in it. And again it is written, Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses. So we will cry unto the Lord for her.
Let us pray together. O Thou who art the Lord that healeth us, look in infinite love upon this dear sister who lieth under the shadow of death. Lay Thy hand upon her and rebuke this disease that hath taken hold upon her brain. If it be Thy gracious will, speak the word that shall restore her to health, that she may yet live and praise Thee in the congregation of the people and bring up her child in Thy fear. Lord, we confess our prayers are often feeble and cold, but Thou hearest the faintest cry of Thy children, and Thou hast promised that prayer and faith shall perform their miracle when the soul waiteth upon Thee. Hear us though our words be broken, for we look not at the beauty of our supplication but at Thy mercy in Christ Jesus.
We ask also that Thou wouldst keep her mind stayed upon Thee, that she may know that perfect peace which Thou givest to those who trust in Thee. Spread this whole case before the eyes of Infinite Love, and let her and her child and all who love her feel that her life is hid with Christ in God, and that whether Thou art pleased to grant a miracle of healing in this life, or to call her home, she shall in a very short time forget her misery and remember it as waters that pass away. Comfort those who watch and weep beside her, and give them patience and comfort from the Scriptures, and hope that faileth not.
We leave her in Thy wise and tender hands, believing that Thou weighest the path of the just and doest all things well. Let it be our praise, if Thou art pleased to raise her up, to exalt Thee in the assembly and to praise Thee for Thy wonderful works to the children of men. Amen.
