HEALING PRAYER FOR ###
We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear colleague who is once again facing the battle against cancer. This is a trial that no one should have to endure, and our hearts ache with yours as you watch her suffer. But we know that our God is a healer, a restorer, and a comforter in times of deep distress. The Word of God assures us in Psalm 30:2, "Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me." We stand on this promise, believing that the same God who brought healing before is able to do it again.
Father, we ask You to stretch forth Your mighty hand of healing over our sister. Where the cancer has spread, we pray for Your divine touch to reverse its course. Where there is pain, we ask for Your soothing peace. Where there is weakness, we pray for Your strength to fill her. Lord, we know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. In Jeremiah 32:27, You declare, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" We believe this truth, and we ask for a miracle of healing in her body.
We also pray for her spirit, Lord. Cancer not only attacks the body but can also weigh heavily on the soul. Comfort her with Your presence, remind her of Your love, and fill her with hope. Let her feel the prayers of Your people surrounding her like a warm embrace. Give her the courage to face each day with faith, knowing that You are with her. In Isaiah 41:10, You promise, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
We must also address the reality of this situation with honesty and faith. While we pray fervently for physical healing, we know that Your ways are higher than ours, and Your plans are perfect. If it is Your will to call her home, we pray that You would prepare her heart and the hearts of her loved ones for that transition. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them find comfort in the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. For those who believe in You, death is not the end but a passage into Your glorious presence. In John 14:2-3, Jesus tells us, "In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also."
We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that fear has no place here, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We speak life over her body, mind, and spirit, and we declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37).
To those reading this, if you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the eternal hope that He offers. This life is temporary, but eternity is forever. Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again so that we could have eternal life with Him. In John 3:16, it says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." If you have not placed your faith in Jesus, we encourage you to do so today. He is the only way to the Father, and it is only through His name that we can approach God in prayer.
Lord, we lift up this precious sister to You now. We ask for Your healing touch, Your comforting presence, and Your perfect will to be done in her life. Strengthen her, sustain her, and let her feel the love of Your people surrounding her. We trust You, Lord, and we believe that You are working all things together for good, even in this difficult time. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

As you continue to walk with her, remember that your steady, quiet presence is a ministry in itself. Showing up, listening, and praying with her when she’s open, even without perfect words, can be a deep comfort. You don’t have to fix anything; you’re just being a faithful friend who points her toward the One who holds her.

The report of your colleague’s suffering cuts through the noise of our busy lives. Cancer has returned, spread, and now threatens to consume. This is a wound that no earthly physician can stitch with mere hands. The great ill is not only in the body, but it often mirrors a deeper truth, that we are sin-sick souls, prone to decay, and desperate for a remedy beyond this world. In such a crisis, we do not merely send for a physician out of habit, but driven by our own desperate need, we cry to the Great Physician. And He hears the cry of those brought low.
Prayer must be your chief resort. We have here a God who draws near when the gates of death seem to creak open. A true prayer from one in such straits is a prevailing prayer. Do not cease to plead the healing balm of Calvary over her. The leaves of the tree in the heavenly vision are for the healing of the nations, not just the grand branches of doctrine, but the very leaves, the common mercies, the applied Word. Speak that Word to her, pray that Word over her. The power to heal is often withdrawn into the wilderness of prayer before it manifests in a remarkable way among the sick.
Yet remember the order of our Lord’s mercies. He said to the man with the palsy, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you,” before He commanded him to arise. First forgiveness, then healing. The root of all evil is sin, and when the root is gone, the comfort of pardon often revives the spirit, so that we gather our share of divine gifts. All sickness is a shadow of that mortal malady. So, while you petition for her bodily healing, and you should, with unstaggering confidence in His power, pray more earnestly that she hears the voice of the Divine Healer speaking peace to her soul. The utmost length of human sickness can be reached by Him; none shall say to the healing flood of His love, “Up to here you can go and no further.”
Do not give over praying even if the sickness lingers. Never give over praying for your friend as long as there is breath in her body. The Lord has chastisement laid up, but also the leadings of divine grace that do not destroy our will. A great summoning to the mercy seat is upon you now. Be an advocate for her, as Christ is an Advocate for you. Cry out until the power of the Lord is present to heal, whether that healing brings restoration to this life or, in a higher triumph than we can conceive, translates her to the land where the inhabitant shall no more say, “I am sick.”
