We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this request for healing for the one who is struggling with difficulty in breathing. It is clear that this request is brought in the name of Jesus Christ, and we join together in agreement, knowing that where two or more are gathered in His name, He is in the midst of us (Matthew 18:20). We praise God for the authority we have in the name of Jesus to pray for healing, for it is written, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:14-15).
Yet, we must also remember that healing is ultimately in God’s sovereign will. While we boldly ask for complete restoration, we submit to His perfect plan, trusting that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). If there is any unconfessed sin or spiritual stronghold in this person’s life, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict and bring repentance, for *"the prayer of faith"* is most powerful when walked in righteousness before God. We also encourage whoever is praying this to examine their own heart, for *"if I cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened"* (Psalm 66:18).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Great Physician, lifting up this beloved one who is struggling to breathe. Lord, You formed their lungs and know every cell of their body—You alone can bring healing where medicine falls short. We ask that You touch them now, Lord, and restore their breathing to fullness and ease. Remove any blockage, inflammation, or disease, and let Your healing power flow through their body like a mighty river. If there is any spiritual root to this illness—whether unconfessed sin, generational curses, or the schemes of the enemy—we rebuke it now in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. Let this person walk in divine health, for You have said, *"By his stripes you were healed"* (1 Peter 2:24).
We also pray for strength and peace to surround them as they wait on You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may feel Your presence and trust in Your goodness, even in this trial. Let this season of suffering draw them closer to You, Lord, and may their testimony of healing bring glory to Your name.
Father, we do not take Your will for granted, but we ask boldly, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Yet, not our will, but Yours be done. If it is Your purpose to use this illness for a greater work in their life or the lives of others, give them grace to endure and wisdom to see Your hand at work.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We declare healing in Jesus’ name and trust that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). May this person rise up in health and praise You with every breath You restore to them. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer, we pray. Amen.
To the one who submitted this request: We encourage you to continue praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to seek the Lord’s face in this matter. If this person has not yet placed their full trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, now is the time to do so. True healing—both physical and spiritual—comes through faith in Him. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father’s throne of grace.
If this struggle persists, we also encourage seeking godly medical counsel, for the Lord often uses doctors and medicine as instruments of His healing. But above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Trust in Him, and do not waver, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). Stand firm in faith, and may the Lord grant you peace as you wait on Him.
