We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your loved ones in prayer, trusting in the healing power of Jesus Christ. We are grateful that you have shared this burden with us, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God hears our cries and will move mightily on their behalf.
First, we lift up the one who has been bedridden for two weeks, unable to eat. Father, we declare Your Word over her: *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). Lord, we claim this healing in the name of Jesus. You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You restore her strength, renew her appetite, and bring complete healing to her body. We thank You that she has been attending a gospel-preaching church and has been baptized, a sign of her faith in You. Holy Spirit, remind her of Your promises and the truth of Your Word. Comfort her, strengthen her, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. Father, we also pray for nourishment—both physical and spiritual. Open her heart to receive the spiritual food of Your Word, that she may grow stronger in faith even as her body is restored. Help her to take any necessary medication and to follow the guidance of those caring for her. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or discouragement in Jesus' name and command it to leave her now.
For the older loved one, we pray for an outpouring of Your grace. Father, we ask that You strengthen him in every area of his life. Give him the discipline to keep up with devotionals, church attendance, and prayer. Help him to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as Scripture commands (2 Peter 3:18 WEB). Lord, we ask that You bless his efforts to care for his household, including shopping and other responsibilities. Keep him healthy, grant him the desire and ability to walk and exercise, and let him find joy and strength in attending the gym. We also lift up the pastor she enjoys—Father, grant this pastor grace to visit her and to be a source of encouragement. Soften his heart to reach out and connect with them, that they may be blessed by his ministry.
We must also address the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. While it is wonderful that she was raised Catholic and now attends a gospel-preaching church, we want to emphasize that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We encourage both of them to place their trust fully in Jesus, repenting of their sins and surrendering their lives to Him. The Holy Spirit is their Comforter and Guide, and through Him, they can have the assurance of salvation and adoption into God’s family (Romans 8:15-16 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these precious lives to You. Lord, we thank You for the healing power of the cross and the stripes that Jesus bore for our sake. We declare that by His wounds, this dear one is healed. Restore her body, Lord, and give her the strength to eat and regain her health. Fill her with Your peace and presence, and let her feel the comfort of Your Holy Spirit. Father, we also pray for the one caring for her—grant him extra grace to fulfill his responsibilities with joy and diligence. Strengthen him in body, mind, and spirit, and help him to grow closer to You each day. Lord, we ask that You move in the heart of the pastor she enjoys, that he may reach out and be a blessing to them. We rebuke any spirit of sickness, discouragement, or disobedience in Jesus' name and command it to flee. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they continue to walk in the light of Your truth. We thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, and we pray that both of them would know Him more deeply each day. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises and to trust in His timing. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep seeking Him. The Lord is faithful, and He will not abandon those who put their trust in Him. May His grace and peace be with you and your household this Christmas season and always.
