Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden and for allowing us to stand with you in prayer. We have heard your cry for complete healing and we are bringing this precious woman before the Lord with you, asking for His mercy and power to be made known in her body.
When we read the Gospels we see how much of the life of Jesus was given to touching and healing those who were sick and afflicted. He did not turn away from physical suffering. He drew near to it, He touched those who hurt, and He showed that our bodies and our pain matter deeply to Him. That is the same Jesus we are praying to now.
We are joining you in praying as you asked, that God would bring complete healing, that tumors would disappear, that tests would come back clear, that the surgery would go well and that the hands of the doctors would be guided by Him. Above all we are asking the Lord to lift the pain she is feeling right now in the hospital. Pain has a way of making even a short time feel endless, as if we will never feel normal again. The psalmist David described it as a life spent in grief, and God understands that weariness. He sees her in that hospital bed and He hears every prayer offered for her.
We believe with you that God is able to heal. We also have learned that His healing comes in many ways. Sometimes it is immediate with a word or a touch, sometimes it is gradual, step by step. Sometimes He heals through the natural processes He Himself placed in our bodies, and through the skill of doctors and the course of treatment and surgery. Because He created our bodies and the processes that restore them, any true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or over time. And even as He works in the body, He also brings healing to the mind and heart, calming fear and bringing peace that is itself a deep work of His grace.
There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and we do not always know why some are restored quickly while others walk a longer and harder road. What we do know is that cancer, for all its power to weaken and to frighten, is not greater than Jesus Christ. This disease can seem overwhelming as it saps strength and causes such suffering, and it is a word that brings fear to so many. Yet when we lift our eyes from the disease to the Savior, we remember He is the Creator of all things and nothing is beyond His authority. His power is far greater than any cluster of cells, and we can trust her fully into His hands.
We are also praying for her mother. As a fellow survivor she knows this valley in a personal way, and we are asking God to give her fresh strength, comfort and peace as she supports her daughter. May the Lord sustain her and let her own story be a source of hope.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this dear daughter before You. You know her name, You know her pain, You know every tumor and every cell in her body. We ask for Your healing power to rest upon her. Please take away her pain and give her relief, guide the surgeons and all who care for her, and we pray that You would cause the cancer to leave her body and that future tests would show no trace of it. Comfort her and let her feel Your presence close in that hospital room. Strengthen her mother and the whole family with Your peace. We trust her life into Your loving hands, knowing she is Yours, whether You choose to heal her here or to make her whole in Your presence where there will be no more pain or tears. We ask this in the strong and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our healer and our hope. Amen.
