We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for healing and relief from the intense pain caused by severe scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and spinal stenosis. Father God, Your Word tells us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We stand on this promise, believing that You are the Great Physician who can bring restoration and comfort even in the most difficult circumstances.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon this dear one’s body. Ease the pain, strengthen the spine, and restore mobility where there is stiffness and discomfort. We know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and specialists involved in their care. Guide their hands and minds as they seek to provide treatment and relief. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in You with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, acknowledging You in all our ways so that You will direct our paths.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, this one is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life and strength into their body, believing that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah is fulfilled in Christ: "Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. Then the lame man will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing" (Isaiah 35:5-6).
We encourage this dear one to hold fast to their faith, even when the pain feels overwhelming. Remember the story of the woman with the issue of blood, she pressed through the crowd, believing that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, she would be made whole (Matthew 9:20-22). Jesus honored her faith and healed her. Let this be a reminder that faith, even as small as a mustard seed, can move mountains (Matthew 17:20).
Lord, we also pray for emotional and spiritual strength during this trial. Chronic pain can wear down even the strongest of spirits, but we know that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Fill them with Your joy and peace as they wait on You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We trust in You, Lord, and we thank You for Your faithfulness.
Amen.
