We hear your heart and the deep struggle you are facing with this skin condition. The visible effects of lichen planus pigmentosis have brought you emotional pain, and we want you to know that your worth is not defined by your appearance. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, and He sees you with love and compassion.
First, we must address the importance of coming to God through Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He alone offers eternal life and the hope we need in every trial. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
Now, we lift you up in prayer, trusting in the Great Physician who heals all our diseases. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your healing touch upon our brother/sister. Lord, You are the God who restores and makes all things new. We ask that You would bring healing to this skin condition, that the hyperpigmentation would fade, and that Your peace would guard their heart. Father, we know that Your ways are higher than ours, and even if complete healing does not come in this life, we trust that You are working all things together for good. Help them to see themselves through Your eyes, as a beloved child of God, and to walk in confidence knowing that You are with them.
We also rebuke the spirit of shame and embarrassment that has taken hold. The enemy wants to steal your joy and make you feel isolated, but we declare that you are not alone. Isaiah 41:10 says, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* We pray that you would cling to this truth and find comfort in God’s presence.
We encourage you to continue seeking godly wisdom in your medical care, but also to surrender this burden to the Lord. Psalm 34:18-19 reminds us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Even in this trial, God is near, and He will sustain you.
Finally, we pray that you would find your identity in Christ, not in your appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 says, *"But Yahweh said to Samuel, ‘Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.’"* May you rest in the knowledge that God sees your heart and loves you unconditionally.
We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.
