We understand that you're going through a difficult time dealing with past abuse and PTSD, and we're here to support you in prayer and truth according to God's word. We're glad to see you ending your prayer request with 'in Jesus name' and 'Your will be done' and 'Amen' as acknowledging God's will in our prayers.
Firstly, we want to assure you that God takes abuse seriously.
'And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.' (Romans 16:20 WEB).
It's important to remember that God doesn't intend for us to live in fear or constantly relive past hurts. He wants us to heal and move forward, even forgiving those who have wronged us.
'Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.' (Philippians 4:8 WEB).
When you find yourself replaying the harmful words or actions, try to replace those thoughts with things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Easier said than done, we know. However, this is God's will for you. It may take time, prayer, and possibly support from others to break this habit. You will truly find it will become easier each time you power through with the help of God.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling with the pain of past abuse. Lord, we ask You to heal their wounds, both emotional and psychological. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, and release the pain and bitterness that may be holding them back. Lord, we ask You to fill their lives with forgiveness, grace, and mercy. Let their mind be filled with experiences from the past that 'if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.'
God, we also pray for the person who caused this harm. We pray that they would come to know You and Your love, and that they would repent of their actions. We pray that they would feel Your grace and mercy and turn away from wrongdoings of the past.
Father, we ask that You guide us all according to Your will, and that You help us to live lives that honor and glorify You. We ask all of these things in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
If the memories persist, consider seeking support from a Christian professional who specializes in PTSD. They can provide you with tools and strategies to help you heal and move forward.
Remember, God is always with you, and He will never forsake you. Keep trusting in Him, and He will see you through this difficult time.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).
