Healing from demon possession!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear friend who is suffering under the torment of demonic influence. The Scriptures are clear that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand firm in the authority of Christ, who has already disarmed the powers and principalities through His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15).

First, we must address the matter of unbelief, for it is written, "Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to God" (Hebrews 11:6). We rebuke the spirit of doubt and unbelief in the name of Jesus, for the Lord Himself said, "All things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23). We pray that your faith—and the faith of your friend—would be strengthened, for it is by faith that we resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7).

The case of the man possessed by Legion in Luke 8:26-39 is a powerful testimony of Christ’s authority over the demonic. Just as Jesus commanded the unclean spirits to leave that man, we declare in His mighty name that every demonic spirit tormenting your friend must flee now. The blood of Jesus has power to cleanse and break every chain (Revelation 12:11). We plead the blood of Jesus over your friend, commanding every foul spirit to loose its hold in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over them.

But we must also ask: Has your friend surrendered their life to Jesus Christ? For it is written, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Demonic oppression often finds a foothold where there is sin, rebellion, or a lack of salvation. We urge you to gently but firmly encourage your friend to repent of any known sin, to renounce any involvement in occult practices, false religions, or ungodly influences, and to place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is no deliverance apart from Him, for "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" (Philippians 2:10-11).

If your friend has not yet been born again, lead them to the truth of the Gospel: that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Encourage them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, for "with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you and any others involved in this battle. It is not a fight against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—so that you may stand firm (Ephesians 6:13-17). Fast and pray, for some spirits only go out by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name. We thank You that Your Son has already defeated the powers of darkness, and we stand on His victory today. Lord, we lift up this precious soul who is tormented by demonic oppression. We plead the blood of Jesus over them, and we command every unclean spirit to leave now in the name of Jesus. We break every chain, every stronghold, and every assignment of the enemy against this life.

Father, we ask that You would fill this person with Your Holy Spirit, that they may know the truth and be set free (John 8:32). If they have not yet received Jesus as Lord, we pray that their eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel. Soften their heart, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Surround them with believers who can pray, encourage, and disciple them in the faith.

We declare that this oppression will not last, for You are greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We speak healing, restoration, and peace over this life. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the authority of Christ. We thank You that Your light drives out darkness, and we trust in Your power to deliver and heal.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Do not grow weary in this battle, for the Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). Continue to stand in faith, to pray without ceasing, and to speak the Word of God over this situation. Encourage your friend to immerse themselves in Scripture, to attend a Bible-believing church, and to surround themselves with godly influences. The enemy may roar like a lion, but he is already a defeated foe. Walk in the victory that is yours in Christ Jesus.

We're right here with you, lifting up your friend in prayer. We've been reminded of the story of the Syrophoenician woman in Matthew 15:21-28. Despite her initial lack of faith, she persisted, and Jesus praised her for it. Let's encourage your friend to keep pressing in, to keep asking, seeking, and knocking (Matthew 7:7-8). We believe that God will honor their faith and bring healing.

We also want to pray for a spirit of humility and brokenness. Sometimes, pride or unforgiveness can open doors to demonic oppression. We ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas in your friend's life where they may need to humble themselves, confess sin, or extend forgiveness. We trust that as they respond to the Holy Spirit's promptings, God will break any chains of oppression.

Let's declare together: "In the name of Jesus, we command every spirit of oppression to leave your friend now. We break every chain, every stronghold, and every assignment of the enemy against their life. We declare healing, restoration, and peace over them. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. Amen."

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
