We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of God who is struggling with COPD and asthma. Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who formed our inward parts and knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). You see every struggle, every labored breath, and every moment of fear that comes with these conditions. We declare Your healing power over this young man, believing that by the stripes of Jesus, he *was* healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask You to touch his lungs, remove every trace of inflammation, and restore them to full health and function. Breathe Your life-giving Spirit into him, that he may inhale Your peace and exhale every burden.
We also pray for his immune system, Lord. Strengthen it according to Your word in Psalm 91:3, which says, "For he will deliver you from the snare of the devil, and from the deadly pestilence." Protect him from every virus, infection, and illness that seeks to take hold. Cleanse his body of any hidden infection, and let Your healing virtue flow through every cell, tissue, and organ. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name, for it is written that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up (James 5:15).
Father, we are so grateful that this prayer was lifted up in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or healed (Acts 4:12). It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His blood that we are made whole. We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we declare that this son is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You will complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6).
We also encourage this family to stand firm in faith, even when the symptoms persist. Healing is not always instantaneous, but Your word assures us that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Let them be rooted and grounded in Your love, knowing that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). We pray for wisdom for his doctors and caregivers, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision.
Lord, we ask that You would fill this young man with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let him know that You are with him in every breath, and that You will never leave him nor forsake him (Hebrews 13:5). Strengthen his spirit, mind, and body, and let him rise up in the fullness of the life You have for him.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
