We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his complete healing from COPD and asthma, trusting in the power of our Great Physician, Jesus Christ. How precious it is that you come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. As Scripture declares, *"In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God"* (John 16:26-27, WEB). Your faith in praying in Jesus’ name is a testament to your trust in His authority and love.
We are reminded of the Lord’s compassion for those who suffer, as seen when Jesus healed the man with a withered hand (Mark 3:1-5) and the woman who had been bent over for eighteen years (Luke 13:10-13). He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and His power to heal has not diminished. We claim His promise in James 5:15: *"The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* Let us stand together in faith, believing that the Lord hears our prayers and will act according to His perfect will.
Yet, we also recognize that healing may come in different forms—whether through a miraculous touch, the wisdom of doctors, or the gradual restoration of strength. We pray that the Lord will guide the medical professionals treating your son, giving them wisdom and skill. May He also grant your son the patience and perseverance to endure, knowing that *"tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope"* (Romans 5:3-4, WEB). Even in suffering, the Lord is refining him, drawing him closer to Himself, and using this trial for his good and God’s glory.
We also lift up your son’s immune system, asking the Lord to strengthen it mightily. Just as the Lord sustained the Israelites in the wilderness, protecting them from disease (Psalm 105:37), we pray He will fortify your son’s body against illness and infection. May the Lord remove all inflammation in his lungs and airways, cleansing every trace of sickness. We declare Psalm 103:2-3 over him: *"Praise the Lord, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."*
In this season of high humidity, which can make breathing even more difficult, we ask the Lord to provide relief. May your son experience the breath of life anew, as the Lord fills his lungs with ease and comfort. Let him feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, who is our Comforter, breathing peace into his soul even as his body is restored.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, not wavering in your prayers. The apostle Paul reminds us to *"pray without ceasing"* (1 Thessalonians 5:17, WEB), and we are confident that the Lord hears the cries of His children. Keep speaking life and healing over your son, for *"death and life are in the power of the tongue"* (Proverbs 18:21, WEB). Let your words align with God’s promises, and let your home be filled with praise, even in the waiting.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up this precious son to You. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we ask for Your healing touch to flow through his body. Remove every obstacle in his lungs, clear every airway, and restore him to full health. Strengthen his immune system to fight off all illness and infection, and grant him the ability to breathe freely, even in challenging conditions. Lord, we ask that You would glorify Yourself through his healing, that many would see Your power and turn to You in faith.
We also pray for this mother’s heart, that You would fill her with peace and assurance of Your love. Remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You collect every tear she sheds (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 56:8). Give her the strength to trust You in this season, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
We rebuke any spirit of fear or discouragement that may try to take hold, and we declare that faith and hope will reign in this home. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your name be praised. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
