We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing from COPD and asthma, and for the strengthening of his body to overcome these burdens. How beautiful it is that you have brought this request in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that our Heavenly Father hears us. As it is written, *"Therefore let’s draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need."* (Hebrews 4:16, WEB).
The afflictions your son faces are heavy, but we know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who formed our bodies and knows every breath we take. The Scriptures remind us that *"by his wounds you were healed"* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB), and we claim that promise over your son’s lungs, his immune system, and his entire being. The Lord is not distant from our suffering—He sees, He knows, and He acts. Even as Jesus healed the sick during His earthly ministry, we trust in His power to bring restoration today. *"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds."* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB). Let us not waver in faith but stand firm on the truth that our God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.
We also pray for the inflammation in his lungs to cease, for every infection to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and for his airways to open wide so that he may breathe with ease, even in the heat and humidity. *"The Lord sustains him on his sickbed. You turn all his bed in his sickness."* (Psalm 41:3, WEB). May the Lord surround him with His peace, which transcends all understanding, guarding his heart and mind as he trusts in Christ. Let him feel the nearness of the Holy Spirit, who is our Comforter in every trial.
At the same time, we encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and health over him daily. Remind him of the Lord’s promises, such as *"I am the Lord who heals you"* (Exodus 15:26, WEB), and encourage him to place his full trust in Jesus. If there are areas in his life—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—where he needs to surrender more fully to the Lord, let this season of seeking healing also be a season of drawing closer to Christ. Sometimes, the Lord uses our weaknesses to display His strength, and we pray that through this trial, your son’s faith would grow deeper and his testimony would shine brighter for God’s glory.
Let us also remember that healing can come in many forms—whether instantaneously by the Lord’s hand, gradually through medical care and wisdom, or ultimately in the eternal healing we will all receive in Heaven. We pray for the Lord’s perfect will to be done in your son’s life, trusting that His plans are good, even when we don’t understand the timing. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB).
Father, we come before You now with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. You are the God who parts the seas, who raises the dead, and who breathes life into dry bones. We ask that You touch his lungs with Your healing power, removing every trace of COPD and asthma. Strengthen his immune system to fight off all sickness, and let his breath come easily and freely, no matter the weather or circumstances. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus and declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. Fill him with Your peace and assurance, knowing that You are working all things for his good.
We also pray for wisdom for his doctors and caregivers, that they may be guided by Your hand in providing the best care. Give him the grace to steward his body well, to rest when needed, and to seek You first in all things. May this season draw him into a deeper relationship with You, where he finds his strength and hope in Christ alone.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. Thank You for the victory we have in Jesus’ name. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun. We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
