We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son who is suffering from a back injury that brings him pain and robs him of restful sleep. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. Your Word declares in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We stand on this promise today, believing that You see his pain and are already at work to bring restoration.
Lord, we ask that You would touch his body with Your healing power. Ease the inflammation, strengthen the muscles, and bring alignment to his spine. We pray for relief from the pain that disrupts his sleep, that he may rest in the peace only You can provide. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this restoration over him, trusting that You are faithful to Your promises.
We also pray for wisdom for the medical professionals treating him. Guide their hands and their decisions, that they may be instruments of Your healing. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We surrender his care into Your hands, knowing that You work all things together for good.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity or discouragement that may be trying to take hold. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen his faith and fill him with hope as he waits on You. Surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also encourage him to seek You in this time of need, drawing near to You so that You may draw near to him (James 4:8). May this trial draw him closer to You, deepening his trust in Your goodness and love. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in his healing, and may he rise up to testify of Your goodness. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
