healing from abuse

Beloved of All
Hello, I was child trafficked and raped when I was about ### years old. Now I suffer from lots of fears, eating disorders, depression, loneliness, all symptoms of trauma. I take medicine, and plan to search for a therapist. But it is not an instant healing, please pray for me to be patient, take the necessary steps to heal, getting emotionally more stable, listen to the Lord's instructions, not isolating myself because of fear and soon finding a good therapist. Thank you.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as we stand with you in your journey toward healing. The pain you have endured is unimaginable, and the scars—both seen and unseen—run deep. But we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your suffering is not in vain, and your cries have not gone unheard. The Lord sees every tear, collects them in His bottle, and records them in His book (Psalm 56:8). He is your refuge, your strength, and your healer (Exodus 15:26).

First, we want to acknowledge the courage it takes to face each day after such profound trauma. The fears, the eating disorders, the depression, the loneliness—these are not just symptoms; they are battles you are fighting, and we honor your strength in continuing to seek help. It is not weakness to take medicine or to pursue therapy; it is wisdom. The Bible tells us that "a prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty" (Proverbs 22:3). You are taking refuge in the tools God has provided, and we pray that He guides you to the right therapist—one who will walk with you with compassion, wisdom, and a heart aligned with His truth.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to isolate you, whispering that you are alone, that no one understands, or that healing is impossible. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The enemy wants to keep you in chains, but Christ has set you free (Galatians 5:1). We declare that freedom over you now. You are not defined by what was done to you; you are defined by who God says you are—a beloved child, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 5:9).

We also pray for patience, dear one. Healing is not linear, and it is not instant. There will be days when the weight feels unbearable, when the memories threaten to drown you, or when the loneliness feels like a physical ache. But the Lord is your shepherd, and He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3). Even when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you need not fear, for He is with you (Psalm 23:4). His timing is perfect, and His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9). We pray that you would cling to Him in those moments, that you would allow His Word to be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

We encourage you to fight the urge to isolate yourself. The enemy wants you to believe that no one cares, that you are better off alone, but that is a lie. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to walk with you. Seek out a community of believers who will love you, pray for you, and remind you of God’s truth when the lies creep in. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). You were not meant to carry this alone.

As you seek therapy, we pray that the Lord directs your steps to someone who will point you to Him. Professional help is a gift, but true healing comes from the Great Physician. We pray that your therapist would be a vessel of His peace, wisdom, and restoration. May you find comfort in His presence, strength in His promises, and hope in His faithfulness. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). He is not distant or indifferent to your pain; He is near, and He is working even when you cannot see it.

We also want to gently address the spiritual aspect of your healing. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your pain, your fears, and your future to Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can truly heal the deepest wounds of your soul. The Bible says, "If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Salvation is not just about eternity; it is about experiencing the love, peace, and healing of God in this life. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and that includes you. If you have not invited Him into your heart as your Lord and Savior, we pray that you would do so today. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and He offers you a new identity, a new purpose, and a new future.

Lastly, we rebuke the spirit of shame that may be lingering over you. What happened to you was not your fault, and you do not need to carry the weight of guilt or shame. The Bible says, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). You are washed clean by the blood of Jesus, and He calls you His own. We pray that you would receive His forgiveness and extend that same forgiveness to yourself. You are not damaged goods; you are a masterpiece, created for a purpose (Ephesians 2:10).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for this precious one who has endured so much. Lord, You see every wound, every fear, and every tear. We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm on her soul. Bind up her broken heart, Lord, and set her free from the chains of trauma. Give her patience as she walks this journey, and lead her to the right therapist who will guide her with wisdom and compassion.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and isolation in the name of Jesus. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and Your love is perfect, Lord. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to trust in You with all her heart and lean not on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Surround her with a community of believers who will love her, support her, and remind her of Your truth.

Lord, we pray for emotional stability. Calm the storms within her, and give her the strength to take each step forward. Help her to listen to Your voice above all others, and guide her in the path of healing. We ask that You would restore her joy, her hope, and her sense of purpose. Remind her daily that she is Your beloved child, created for a purpose, and that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5).

Father, if she has not yet surrendered her life to You, we pray that she would do so today. Draw her close to Your heart, and let her experience the depth of Your love. Heal her from the inside out, and let her story be a testimony of Your grace and redemption.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.

We're here with you, dear one, in this journey towards healing. We want you to know that you're not alone, and your courage in seeking help is inspiring. We join you in praying for patience, as healing is indeed a process that takes time. Let's remind ourselves of the promise in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

We also want to encourage you to keep fighting those urges to isolate yourself. Remember, the enemy wants you to believe you're alone, but that's a lie. We're here, and we're not going anywhere. Let's cling to the truth in Hebrews 10:25, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

As you continue to seek a therapist, we pray that God will guide you to the right one, someone who will walk with you, understand you, and help you heal. And remember, healing is not just about the past, but also about the present and the future. It's about learning to live again, to hope again, to love again. Trust in God's timing, and trust in His love for you.

Let's keep lifting you up in prayer, dear one. We're in this together.
