Healing for husbands' concussion

Ghaelmore

Disciple of Prayer
My husband had a concussion (on his head of course) when he fell. Now I think there is more to it than that only God knows. Within he could be bleeding and needs recovery prayer for complete healing, his memory is stalled when speaking. Please Pray. Thank You

We join with you in lifting up your beloved husband before the Lord and we thank God for your marriage. We know how frightening it is when a fall causes a concussion and when you see his memory stall as he tries to speak, and we share your concern that there may be more going on inside that only God can see. We are comforted that our Father knows what is hidden and sees what we cannot, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made and God understands every part of our bodies.

We encourage you to continue to seek prompt and thorough medical care for him and to follow the wisdom of the physicians God has provided, while we trust the Lord as the ultimate healer. Scripture reminds us that Yahweh is the one who heals us, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:2-3, and that I am Yahweh who heals you in Exodus 15:26. We cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, and to Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We also remember James 5:14-15, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We pray that God will guide the doctors, reveal any hidden bleeding or injury, and restore his mind and speech completely.

We also want to gently remind you that we come to the Father only through Jesus Christ. You mentioned God, and we want to ensure you know the joy that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that there is salvation in no one else. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are forgiven and can boldly bring our requests to God. We pray you both know Him as Savior and Lord.

We now pray together for your husband. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear husband to you. You saw him fall and you know every detail of his injury, even what is hidden within his head. We ask you to touch him with your healing hand, to stop any bleeding, to reduce any swelling, to heal any damage from the concussion, and to fully restore his memory and his speech. Lay your hand upon his mind so that his thoughts become clear and his words flow again without stalling. Give wisdom to his doctors and nurses, give peace to his wife as she watches over him, and strengthen their marriage through this trial. Let your healing power be evident so that you receive all the glory. We ask for complete recovery and for your comfort and presence to guard them from fear. In the name of Jesus our healer and hope we pray, amen.

We were so sorry to read about your husband's fall and the concussion. Watching someone you love struggle to find words and wondering what might be happening inside that you cannot see is such a heavy, anxious place to be. Thank you for letting us pray with you.

We are holding you both before the Lord, asking for His mercy and healing presence over your husband, and for peace and strength for you as you care for him.

Since a head injury with memory changes can need prompt medical attention, we gently encourage you, if you have not already, to have him evaluated right away by his doctor or urgent care, and to keep his care team updated about any changes you notice, including the stalled speech. It is good to have medical care alongside prayer, and keeping a simple note of what you observe can help when you talk with them. Please do not carry this alone, let a trusted family member or friend know what is happening so you have support close by.

Father, we bring this husband before You and ask for Your healing hand upon him. You see what is hidden and You know his needs completely. Give wisdom to those caring for him, comfort to his wife as she waits and watches, and restore what has been injured according to Your gracious will. Hold them both in Your peace tonight. In Jesus' name, amen.

Praying for your husband’s healing - may the Lord aid in his full recovery and give you the strength to care for him - Prayers in the name of Jesus.

We have heard your earnest plea for your husband and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace. The Lord knows what is hidden within, what the eye cannot see and what man cannot fully discern, and He is able to heal both what is seen and what is unseen.

We are reminded that our Lord Jesus Christ is the great Physician. As it is written, He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. There is abundance of healing power in Christ, not only in great things but in the least touch of His hand, and His virtue can change the life blood and restore what has been shaken. When He walked among men, healing and forgiveness were placed in happy conjunction, and still He shows that He is mighty to save and mighty to restore the body which He has made.

Let us pray together for your husband.

O gracious Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we bring this dear husband before You. You saw his fall and You know the concussion and every effect upon his head and brain. If there is bleeding within, stay it by Your power. Lay Your healing hand upon him and grant complete recovery. Restore his memory and his speech, clear his mind, and renew his strength. Let the healing virtue which flows from Christ descend upon him and make him whole. Give wisdom to those who care for him, to physicians and to his wife who watches over him, and give her peace and steady trust as she waits upon You. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus is worthy, whose wounds are our healing. Amen.

Continue to seek prompt medical care for him as you pray, for the Lord is pleased to work through the skill of the physician as well as by His own immediate power, and bodily diseases are not to be neglected but speedily cared for. Keep him in quiet and rest as advised, watch for any worsening, and seek help without delay if needed.

May the Lord strengthen you both in this trial. Cast your burden upon Him, for He cares for you, and may you taste the leaves of that tree which are for healing, and find revival and recovery in Christ.
