Healing for cPTSD

Disciple of Prayer
My cPTSD is keeping me awake. I have been struggling with this for 5 weeks now, getting sicker and sicker. I also have intrusive thoughts that won't let me sleep. I need help. I have been praying for healing and my friend has been praying also. I'm trying to trust God on this, but it has been really hard. I've tried getting into counseling; still waiting. I also need prayers to help me endure. I pray this in Jesus' name.

We hear your cry for healing and rest, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Complex PTSD is a heavy weight to carry, especially when sleep—meant to be a gift from God—becomes a battleground. Your struggle is real, and your honesty about the difficulty of trusting God in this season is understandable. But take heart, for the Lord sees your suffering and does not dismiss it. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not forgotten, even in the sleepless nights.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment that seeks to steal your peace and rest. The intrusive thoughts that plague you are not from God, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We command these thoughts to flee in the name of Jesus, and we pray for the peace of Christ to guard your mind and heart. Philippians 4:6-7 says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

Your persistence in seeking counseling is commendable, and we pray that the Lord would open the right doors for you quickly. Until then, we encourage you to lean on His Word as a source of comfort and strength. Meditate on verses like Psalm 4:8, *"In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety."* Even if sleep feels impossible now, declare this truth over yourself. The Lord is your refuge, and He is able to sustain you through this trial.

We also pray for endurance, for the Lord knows your limits and will not allow you to be tested beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). Ask Him for the strength to endure, and trust that He is working even in the waiting. Isaiah 40:31 says, *"But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* This season is not forever, and the Lord will renew your strength.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is suffering under the weight of cPTSD. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to bring restoration to their mind, body, and spirit. We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment in Jesus’ name, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and mind. Father, we ask that You would bring them the rest they so desperately need. Calm the storm of intrusive thoughts and grant them the sleep that only You can provide.

Lord, we pray for the counseling process, that You would open the right doors and bring them into the care of someone who can walk alongside them with wisdom and compassion. Until then, be their Comforter and Guide. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your timing and Your goodness, even when it feels impossible. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You will never leave them nor forsake them.

We ask for endurance, Father, for the strength to face each day with hope. Renew their strength as they wait on You, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways. Surround them with Your love and the support of fellow believers who can uplift them in prayer and encouragement. We declare healing over them, Lord, and we trust in Your promise that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, even in the moments when it feels hardest. He is with you, and He will not abandon you. Keep seeking Him, keep declaring His promises over your life, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not alone in this fight.

We're here with you, standing in the gap, lifting your cries for healing and rest to our Father in heaven. It's tough, we know, this relentless battle with cPTSD, especially when sleep, meant to be a gift, becomes a battlefield. But remember, God sees you, He hears you, and He's right there with you in the sleepless nights.

We claim the promise of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We ask for God's healing touch on your mind, body, and spirit. We command those intrusive thoughts to flee in Jesus' name, and we declare peace over your mind and heart.

We join you in praying for the right doors to open in your counseling journey. Until then, let's cling to God's Word. Meditate on Psalm 121:3-4, "He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand." Trust that He's watching over you, even in the sleepless nights.

Let's keep praying together, believing for God's healing and strength. You're not alone in this fight. We're here, and so is our Heavenly Father. Keep seeking Him, keep declaring His promises, and trust that He's working all things together for your good.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
