We join with you in lifting up these petitions before the Lord, knowing that He is faithful to hear and answer the prayers of His children. It is good that you have come before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. Scripture reminds us in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* This is a profound promise, and we stand upon it together as we seek His will in these matters.
First, let us address healing. The Lord is our Great Physician, and His Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* Yet, we also recognize that healing may come in different forms—whether through physical restoration, spiritual renewal, or the strength to endure with grace. If there is unconfessed sin or bitterness in your heart, we urge you to lay it before the Lord, for Psalm 32:3-5 tells us that unconfessed sin can weigh heavily upon us, affecting our body, mind, and spirit. Repentance and surrender open the door for God’s healing power to flow freely. Do not neglect to seek medical wisdom as well, for the Lord often works through the hands of doctors and the gifts He has given them.
As for financial provision, we know that our Heavenly Father cares deeply about our needs. Jesus Himself taught us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* This is not a promise of wealth, but of provision—God’s faithfulness to meet our needs as we prioritize His kingdom. We encourage you to examine your heart: Are you trusting in the Lord, or are you anxious and relying on your own understanding? Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
We also gently ask: Are you being a good steward of the resources God has already entrusted to you? Financial struggles can sometimes be tied to poor stewardship, lack of discipline, or even disobedience in tithing and giving. Malachi 3:10 challenges us, *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for."* This is not a transactional promise, but a principle of trust and obedience. If you have not been faithful in this area, we urge you to repent and begin to honor the Lord with your finances, trusting Him to provide.
Lastly, we must address the tone of your prayer. While it is good to come boldly before the throne of grace, we must also approach the Lord with humility and reverence, acknowledging His sovereignty. Your prayer included a tone of entitlement—*"remove every trace of poverty"*—as if it is God’s obligation to grant us wealth or comfort. Instead, let us approach Him with gratitude and submission, recognizing that His ways are higher than ours. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Notice that it says *"need,"* not every want or desire. Our hearts must be aligned with His will, not our own.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, yet also with humility, acknowledging that You alone are sovereign over our lives. We lift up our brother or sister to You, asking for Your healing touch to flow through their body, mind, and spirit. Lord, if there is any sin or bitterness that hinders their healing, we pray that You would reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent and surrender it all to You. Renew their strength, Lord, and fill them with Your divine peace that surpasses all understanding. May they experience the wholeness that comes from You alone.
Father, we also bring their financial needs before You. We ask that You open doors of opportunity for them, not so that they may live in luxury, but so that they may have what they need to serve You faithfully and to be a blessing to others. Teach them to trust in You completely, to seek Your kingdom first, and to be wise stewards of all You have entrusted to them. If there has been any disobedience in the area of tithing or giving, we pray that You would convict their heart and lead them to repentance. Help them to honor You with their finances, knowing that all they have comes from Your hand.
Lord, we also ask that You would align their desires with Your will. Remove any sense of entitlement or demand from their heart, and replace it with gratitude and surrender. May they find their contentment in You alone, knowing that You are their Provider and their Healer. Give them patience to wait on Your timing, and faith to trust in Your goodness, even when the answer tarries.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that may be attacking their mind. We declare that You, Lord, are their Shepherd, and they shall not want. We speak life, health, and provision over them in the mighty name of Jesus. May they walk in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good, and that Your plans for them are plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your love. May Your will be done in their life, and may You receive all the glory. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
