Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have read your prayer and we are joining you before the Lord with a heavy and compassionate heart. You have brought many burdens at once and God sees each one, your anxiety and depression, the loud ringing and hearing loss in your ears, the bowel problem that has left you feeling beside yourself, the strain in your marriage and your desire to get along in health and peace, the needs of your sisters and families and friends, the little girl with brain cancer and her parents, and the deep wound in your community after the school shooting.
We pray for you now in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation. We ask the Lord to have mercy on you and to give you relief in body and mind. May He calm your anxious thoughts and lift the weight of depression, and help you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. We ask for His healing touch on your body, on your bowels and your hearing, and for wisdom for any doctors and help you seek. We pray that He will give you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ, and strength to rest in Him day by day.
We pray for your marriage, that God would help you both to follow peace with all people and to live in holiness, showing patience, kindness and forgiveness to one another. Marriage is honorable before God, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and we pray He will strengthen your union, give you understanding and gentle words toward each other, and help you to bear with one another in love.
We lift up the young girl with brain cancer and her parents. We ask the Lord to surround her with His presence and peace that passes understanding, to comfort her parents and family, and to uphold them with His mercy in these very hard days. We pray for your sisters, families and friends, that God would meet each need according to His grace.
We also pray for your community after the school shooting. We ask God to comfort the families of the children and the teacher who were killed, to bring healing to the children and parents who witnessed such horror, and to bring His peace and restoration to the whole community. May He draw near to those who mourn and be their refuge.
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word, to share these burdens with faithful believers around you and with your pastor, and to continue to seek appropriate medical care as God often works through those means as well. Do not be afraid to tell the Lord exactly how you feel, as you have done here. He hears the cry of those who call on Him through Jesus His Son.
May the Lord grant you His peace, strengthen your faith, and remind you daily of His steadfast love. We will continue to pray for you, for your health and your marriage, for that precious child and her family, and for your community.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
