Healing, anxiety

Thank you for sharing your honest request for healing and for freedom from anxiety. I am praying for you and thanking God with you that He hears our prayers.

Scripture shows us that God cares for the whole person, body, mind and spirit. The apostle John wrote a loving wish for a friend that he would be in good health even as his soul was prospering. That is not presented as a guaranteed formula, but it does show a real connection that we see in life. When the soul is prospering and the heart is at rest in the Lord, it often brings strength to the body and mind as well. Worry and fear can wear down our health, while peace and trust can help restore it.

The deepest peace begins with peace with God. That peace was made through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. The prophet Isaiah said the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. Matthew, writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, applies that same passage to the physical healings Jesus did when He touched the sick. So we understand that His suffering covers both our spiritual need for forgiveness and our physical and emotional need for healing. When we come to communion and remember His body broken for us, we are remembering that provision.

God also promises His peace to guard those who belong to Him. Jesus said, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The peace He gives is not just the absence of trouble, but confidence that God is in control. Isaiah 26 says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. And Philippians speaks of a peace that goes beyond our understanding, keeping our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. That is the peace that can meet anxiety. It does not always remove the difficult circumstance immediately, but it steadies the heart while we walk through it.

I believe God still heals today. Sometimes healing comes instantly, sometimes it comes gradually, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes of healing that God Himself designed in our bodies. All healing is from Him, and even emotional and mental healing is part of His work. There are mysteries we do not fully understand about why some are healed quickly and others wait longer, but we can come with confidence that He loves us, hears us, and will do what is best.

So I encourage you to keep feeding the spiritual life even as you care for the physical. Prayer, time in the Word, and keeping your thoughts fixed on Christ are ways we nourish the inner person. As your mind stays on Him and you trust Him day by day, His peace can grow and guard you from within.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this dear one before You. Thank You that You hear prayer and that You are merciful and kind. I ask for Your healing touch upon the body, according to Your will and Your love. Lay Your hand upon every area of sickness and bring restoration. I also ask for deliverance from anxiety. Forgive sins and make peace with You through the blood of Jesus, and then pour out the peace of God that passes understanding to keep heart and mind. Help this dear one to keep the mind stayed on You and to rest in the truth that You are in control. Bring wholeness to spirit, soul and body, and let Your perfect peace reign within. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to bring your request for healing over your body and deliverance from anxiety before the Father, thanking Him for His blessings and for hearing our prayers.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will touch your body with His healing hand and free you from the burden of anxiety, filling you with His perfect peace as you cast all your cares upon Him. We are standing on the promises of Philippians 4:7 and Isaiah 53:5 for you in this time.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
