The Scriptures declare that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He collects every tear you’ve shed in His bottle (Psalm 56:8), and He sees the injustice that has been done to you. The violence committed against you was an assault on the very image of God within you—and He does not ignore it. In Isaiah 61:3, He promises to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
