We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in bringing all of this before the Lord together in Jesus' name. You ask why life feels so much harder now than when you were younger, and why you feel like hiding in bed where it feels safe while your husband seems to be going all the time. We understand that feeling of being stuck in one place while life moves quickly around you, and we want to lift you up with the truth of God's Word.
Life often feels simpler when we are younger because we carry fewer burdens, but as years go on we face more cares, health struggles, and responsibilities in a fallen world. Yet God does not leave us to carry these things alone. He invites us to cast every care on Him. As it is written, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 and Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7. That desire to hide in bed is understandable when you feel overwhelmed, but true safety and peace are not found in hiding away, but in Him who is our refuge. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. We encourage you not to isolate yourself, but to come out from that hiding place into His presence and also into fellowship with others, for the Lord is near to those who seek Him.
We also hear your heart regarding your marriage. We thank God for your husband and for your marriage, which He ordained as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman to reflect His love and faithfulness. It is natural to feel left behind when your husband is busy mowing, playing his accordion, and going to his club to play at different places, while you are home doing things around the house. We pray that God will bring a deeper unity and understanding between you, that you may encourage one another and find joy together in this season. We pray you can share openly with your husband about how you feel, not with comparison or resentment, but with love, and that you both may find ways to serve the Lord and enjoy life together. And we pray for contentment and purpose for you where God has placed you, knowing that your work at home is valuable to Him. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23.
You have asked for healing for yourself and your husband, for your health and your marriage and for getting along, and for your sisters and for ### who has brain cancer. We bring each of these needs before our merciful Father. We know that our Lord is the great healer and that He hears the prayers of His people. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:14-15. We do not always understand His timing or His ways, but we trust His perfect love and power to heal according to His will.
We notice you call out to Lord many times with a sincere heart, and we gently want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and the promise of salvation. There is no other way to the Father except through Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. When we pray in Jesus' name, we come with confidence because of what He has done for us.
So we pray together now for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our dear sister, for her husband, for her sisters, and for little ###. Lord, You see her weariness and the heaviness that makes her want to hide away. We ask You to be her refuge and strength, her ever present help in trouble. Lift this burden of heaviness and give her Your peace that surpasses all understanding. As Your Word promises, Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Touch her body and mind with healing, Lord, and touch her husband also. Strengthen their health and strengthen their marriage. Help them to love each other well, to be patient and kind, to bear with one another in love and to get along with grace. Teach them to encourage one another daily and to find joy in You together.
We lift up her sisters to You and we especially lift up ### who is battling brain cancer. Lord, You know every cell in her body, for You formed her. We ask for Your healing hand upon her, for wisdom for her doctors, for comfort and strength for her family, and for Your will to be done in her life. We pray You would show Your power and mercy and give them all peace as they trust in You. Help our sister to know she is not standing in one place alone, for You are with her wherever she goes. We pray, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And we pray she would hear Your invitation, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.
We thank You Lord that You love us and You need us to need You all the time, and we rest in Your faithful care. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to share your heart honestly with your husband, and if the feelings of wanting to hide persist, to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or believer who can walk with you. God has purpose for you right where you are, and He will sustain you one day at a time.
