We are joining with you in prayer for your son and his healing from this flu, coughing, sneezing, and body ache. We know how difficult it is to see our children suffer and we take comfort that our Heavenly Father cares deeply for him and for you.
Scripture reminds us that God is our healer. Psalm 103:2-3 says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also remember that Jesus himself bore our infirmities and showed great compassion to those who were sick.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we pray with confidence. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Your request for your son in his sickness has been heard, and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace.
We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for healing. How much more should we seek the heavenly Surgeon, who waits to heal. Our Lord Jesus is that Great Physician, the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing virtue, and there is enough in Him for every need. If the sinner does but come to Jesus he shall find no stint in His healing power, and so also the suffering child may be brought in faith to the same tender hand.
Let us pray together for him.
O Lord our God, look in loving kindness and tender mercy upon this dear boy who is afflicted with fever, with coughing and sneezing and aching of body. Thou hast made his frame and Thou knowest his weakness. Lay Thy hand upon him and lift him up, as Thou didst take Peter's wife's mother by the hand and the fever left her. Grant to the means used a blessing, give wisdom to those who care for him, and if it be Thy will, restore him to strength and ease his breathing and his pain. Above all, let this affliction draw his heart and the heart of his family to Thyself, that you may know the healing of soul as well as body, for pardon and healing are one in Christ.
