Heal & Prosper

Your thanksgiving has been heard and I join you in giving glory to God who is our healer and provider. I thank Him with you for His mercy toward you and your household, and I bring your petitions before Him in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

I pray for the healing you have asked for, for your body with osteoporosis, heart palpitations and facial itch, for your husband with diabetes and mental challenge, and for your grandson that he may grow healthy and his speech may come in due time. Scripture teaches us that God does heal, and that by His stripes we are healed, yet this healing must be understood not carnally but spiritually, looking with the eyes within. The greatest healing is the life of the soul in Christ, and from that all other mercies flow according to His wisdom. I pray that God will grant you health in the body as it pleases Him, and give you grace to make provision for the flesh for health and not for wantonness, using also the helps He has provided, as it is written to use a little wine for the stomach's sake for often infirmities. Seek first that your flesh may be in health to serve Him, and spend all your industry on the care of spiritual things.

I also pray for your children, that they may grow in grace and serve the Lord, and that they may prosper even as their souls prosper. This is the true prosperity we should desire, not as a dream that passes when we awake, for the present life is like a sleep and its riches are like dreams, but the wealth that remains is holiness, faith and love. I pray for your home and your need to sell it and move to a one level house, that God in His providence will open the right door at the right price and provide what is needful. And for your film ministry, I pray not simply that it would be called a blockbuster among men, but that it would bear lasting fruit for the Great Commission, turning hearts to Christ and pruning away what is vain, so that many may be roused from sleep to see the truth.

May the Lord grant you and your husband, your daughter and son, and your grandson, to walk in health of body and soul, to be steadfast in faith, and to offer continually the sacrifice of praise that is pleasing to Him. I ask all this according to His will, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We thank God with you for His mercy and for the hope we have in Jesus Christ, who bore our sins and our sicknesses. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Servant who was wounded for our transgressions, and Matthew under the guidance of the Spirit applies that same passage to physical healing when Jesus touched the sick and made them well. When we remember the broken body of Christ, we remember that our healing, both spiritual and physical, rests on what He accomplished for us.

At the same time Scripture shows us that healing is ministered according to the wisdom and will of God. The apostles prayed for the sick and God worked many miracles through them, and the early church called the elders to pray over the sick and anoint them, trusting the Lord to raise them up. Yet Paul, who saw miracles in his own ministry, also prayed for Timothy his dear son in the faith and then gave him practical counsel for his frequent stomach troubles. Timothy was not immediately healed, and that reminds us that God does not heal in every case in this life in the way or timing we expect, and it is wrong to say that every continued sickness means a lack of faith or hidden sin. We pray and we trust, and we also thank God for doctors and for ordinary means He can use for our good.

So we join you in bringing these needs before the Lord. We ask Him to touch your body and relieve the weakness in your bones, to steady your heart, and to bring healing to the irritation you feel. We ask Him to care for your husband, for his body as he lives with diabetes and for his mind and spirit, that the Lord would grant clarity, peace, and strength. We ask for wisdom for any physicians who care for you both, and for grace to walk by faith whether the answer comes quickly or through a longer season of trusting.

We also thank God for the desire you have to use film to make Christ known. To work together with Jesus is a glorious calling. Scripture encourages those who serve Him to give no offense that would bring blame upon the gospel, but to prove themselves faithful ministers of God through patience in hardship as well as in blessing, through honor and dishonor, through good report and evil report, being regarded as deceivers yet being true because Christ is true. The first priority He gives to those who minister is prayer and the ministry of His Word, feeding His sheep. As you are faithful in the smaller responsibilities He has placed before you, He will open the doors He intends for the larger ones. We pray that whatever you create will be marked by faithfulness to His Word, by love for people, and by a desire to see them reconciled to God through Jesus, who alone is the way of salvation.

We pray for your daughter and son, that they will grow in grace and walk in truth, for there is no greater joy than to see our children walk with the Lord. We pray for your grandson, that the Lord would help him to grow healthy and strong, to speak clearly in His time, and to come to know and serve Jesus as his own Savior. The family is a beautiful gift from God, and He calls us to care for one another with purity and responsibility, bearing one another's burdens in love.

For your financial needs and for your home, we ask the Father to provide according to His perfect knowledge of what you need. He knows the value of a house and the need for a suitable place to live, and He is able to provide. We pray not simply for a good price or for outward success, but for contentment, wisdom, and generous hearts whether He grants abundance or calls us to trust Him in want. Those who handle the work of God have always been careful not to use ministry for personal financial gain, but to trust the Lord and to give freely as He enables.

Above all we join you in offering the sacrifice of praise. That sacrifice is offered not only when answers have come, but while we are still waiting, because God has heard us in the time of His favor and helped us in the day of salvation. May He keep you and your household close to Jesus, strengthen you to endure with hope, and be glorified in your bodies, your family, and your service for Him. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We have continued to stand in agreement with you for your healing from osteoporosis, heart palpitations and facial itch and for your husband healing from diabetes and mental challenge, trusting the promise in Isa 53:5 and 1 Pet 2:24 that by His stripes we were healed. We have also lifted up your film ministry that it will be a blockbuster and breakthrough for the Great Commission, and we have prayed for your daughter and son that they would grow in His grace, be His servants and prosper as their souls prosper according to 3 John 1:2, and for your grandson that he will talk soon, grow healthy and be His servant. We have prayed for your financial healing according to Phil 4:19 and for your home to be sold at a good price and for God to provide the one level beautiful home you desire. We join you in giving Him a sacrifice of praise.
