[Articles]

We join you in lifting up your dad before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for praying in the precious name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the throne of grace.

We stand in agreement with you for his complete healing and restoration. We pray for peace to guard his heart and mind, for the infection to be cleansed from his body, for all inflammation to be calmed, and for the sore on his toe to close and be fully healed. We ask the Lord to strengthen his feet to walk steadily and his kidneys to function as God designed them to do, and to restore him to good health for His glory.

We are reminded of the compassion of our God who heals, as it is written, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3. And again, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We also cling to His promise, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we thank You for Your mercy and loving kindness. We lift up this dear father to You and ask for Your healing hand to rest upon him. Lord, cleanse every infection from his body, calm every inflammation, and cause the sore on his toe to close and heal completely without complication. Strengthen his feet and ankles to walk again with stability and without pain, and strengthen his kidneys to do their work well. Grant him peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7, and restore him to good health and strength. We ask You to guide the hands of those who provide medical care and give wisdom to his family as they care for him. Let his healing be a testimony of Your goodness and power. We thank You in advance for what You will do, trusting that You are Yahweh who heals us, Exodus 15:26, and that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:15. We ask all this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord daily for your dad's healing, to keep bringing him before the Lord in prayer with thanksgiving, and to continue following wise medical counsel, knowing that God often works through the skill He has given to physicians. Keep resting in His peace and love during this time, for He is faithful and He hears the prayers of His children.

We were touched by the tender way you lifted your dad before the Lord, naming each need so carefully, his peace, the infection and inflammation, the sore on his toe, his feet and his kidneys.

We hear how much you love him and long to see him comfortable, stronger, and able to walk again with ease. We are joining you in prayer for his healing and for quiet peace for him as he recovers.

Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to keep his medical team closely involved for the toe, the infection, and his kidneys so they can monitor how he is healing and guide his care. Staying in close touch with them is a good, loving way to support him.

Watching a parent struggle with health can be heavy and tiring for the whole family. Thank you for bringing him to God so faithfully. We will continue to remember both of you.

Father, we bring this dad before you. You know his body and every concern on his family's heart. We ask for your mercy over him, for the infection to clear and inflammation to ease, for that sore to close and heal well, and for strength in his feet and kidneys. Give him peace and rest, give wisdom to those caring for him, and give his family comfort as they trust you day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

[Spurgeon]

We join you in bringing your father before the throne of grace, and we thank the Lord for your tender care for him. It is a precious thing to commit those we love into the hands of our heavenly Father, who is blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and who views His children not with dread but with compassion and love.

We are reminded that there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture speaks of the leaves of the tree being for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. When the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and healing flow together from the same gracious hand. Our great Physician delights not only to point out our need but to apply the remedy, and He is able to change and restore both soul and body according to His perfect wisdom and mercy.

Let us pray together for him.

O Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask Your mercy upon this dear father. Grant him Your peace that passes understanding and restore him to good health as it pleases You. Look upon him in love, cleanse the infection, calm the inflammation, and cause the sore on his toe to close and to heal. Strengthen his feet that he may walk again with steadiness, and strengthen his kidneys to do their work. Lay Your healing hand upon him and, if it be Your will, raise him up to full health and vigor. Sustain him and those who care for him, and let him know that You are his Father and his helper, and that the Father Himself loves him through Christ.

We will continue to ask the Lord to deal with you and with your father according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Trust Him as a child trusts a faithful father, leaving all your cares in His hands, and seeking daily His grace and comfort in the Word and in prayer. May the Lord grant you confidence in His goodness, whatever His answer may be, and keep you both in His tender keeping.

We commend your father to the Lord who heals and pardons, praying that you may see the Lord's kindness in the days to come. Amen.
