We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this family in desperate need of His healing touch. Father God, we ask that You would move mightily in this situation, softening hardened hearts and restoring what has been broken. The pain of betrayal and division runs deep, but You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free.
Lord, we pray specifically for this husband and father, that You would remove any narcissistic traits that have taken root in his heart. Your Word tells us in Ezekiel 36:26, "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." We claim this promise over him today. Break the chains of pride and self-centeredness, and replace them with humility, repentance, and a heart that seeks after You.
We also lift up this wife and mother, who has been deeply wounded. Father, we ask for Your forgiveness to wash over her for any harsh words spoken in pain and for any reactions that did not honor You. Your Word reminds us in Ephesians 4:29, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." Help her to extend grace even as she seeks it for herself. Give her the strength to forgive as You have forgiven her, and the wisdom to navigate this difficult season with godly discernment.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray for the children caught in the middle of this brokenness. Shield their hearts from bitterness and confusion. Let them see Your love and faithfulness even in the midst of their family’s struggles. Your Word declares in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We trust You to do just that—for every member of this family.
We rebuke the spirit of division and infidelity that has sought to destroy this marriage. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your redemption. We stand on the truth that what God has joined together, let no man—or sin—separate (Matthew 19:6).
Father, we also address the sin of adultery that has entered this marriage. Your Word is clear in Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." We pray for conviction and repentance for any unfaithfulness, and we ask that You would restore purity and trust where it has been broken. If there is ongoing sin in this area, we plead with You to bring it to light and grant the grace to turn away from it completely.
Lord, we also encourage this wife to seek godly counsel—whether through a pastor, biblical counselor, or trusted Christian mentor—to help guide her through this season. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Surround her with believers who will speak truth in love and hold her accountable to walk in a manner worthy of the calling she has received.
Above all, we pray that Christ would be the center of this family’s healing. Without Him, there is no true restoration. We declare that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. If there are any in this family who do not yet know Him as Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to the foot of the cross where forgiveness and new life are found.
Heavenly Father, we lift this family up to You now, trusting that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Heal their wounds, restore their relationships, and let Your name be glorified in their midst. May this family emerge from this trial stronger in their faith, deeper in their love for one another, and more committed to living for Your glory.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
