What a gift it is that we can bring even the smallest physical discomfort before the Lord who fashioned every part of us. Your concern for your feet, though it may seem modest, matters to the One who numbers the hairs on our heads. In prayer, we are drawn to Him as our Healer, Jehovah Rapha. He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. When Jesus walked among us, He healed in many ways: sometimes with a word, sometimes with a touch, always with compassion. Nothing was too small for His attention.
Let us agree together in prayer for your feet. The promise is that if two of us agree on earth concerning anything we ask, it will be done by our Father in heaven. But we remember that the purpose of prayer is to align our will with His, to seek His glory. Whether in a quick, silent cry of the heart or in the gathered intercession of the body, we can boldly ask for healing, trusting that He hears.
I think of how the leper lost sensation in his feet, unable to feel what was eating away at him. In a far smaller way, dry and cracking heels can remind us of the wearing effects of our daily walk. Yet Jesus is the one who stoops to wash the feet of His people, refreshing and restoring. So we ask not only for healing of the skin, but for renewed strength to walk in His ways.
The early church prayed for the sick, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. We are prepared to pray with you in that same faith. If God heals instantly, we will rejoice. If the healing comes as a process, we will persevere. And if He permits the thorn to remain, we know His grace is sufficient; His power is made perfect in weakness. That truth does not diminish our asking, it emboldens us to cast all our cares on Him.
I encourage you to pour out your heart to God with fervency. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. As you pray, remember that if you are His child, you can cry out, “Abba, Father,” and rest in His care. Bring all your prayers, the quick silent ones and the long earnest ones, before the throne of grace, where you will find mercy and help in time of need.
We will be lifting you up, asking the Lord to restore your feet to health, that you may walk without discomfort and that even this small infirmity would become a doorway to deeper dependence on Him. May the Lord bless you and keep you, making His face shine upon you, and give you peace.
