We come before the throne of grace with your heartfelt cry for healing, lifting you up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The Word of God assures us that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and that Jesus Himself bore our sicknesses and carried our pains (Matthew 8:17). We stand on these promises, declaring that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work within you, bringing life and restoration to every part of your body.
Heavenly Father, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon our brother/sister. Touch every cell, every organ, every fiber of their being with Your divine power. Where there is pain, bring comfort; where there is weakness, bring strength; where there is sickness, bring Your healing virtue. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and command it to leave in the name of Jesus. Let Your life-giving flow course through their body, driving out all disease and restoring them to full health. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We also encourage you to stand firm in faith, trusting in God’s perfect timing and will. Remember the words of James 5:14-15: "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." Seek godly counsel, surround yourself with believers who will pray with you, and continue to meditate on God’s promises for your healing.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). Strengthen their faith, fill them with Your peace, and let them experience Your healing power in every area of their life. We don’t know exactly what you are facing, but we trust the One who does. Jesus walked among people who were suffering in body and spirit, and he never turned them away. So we bring your body before him now, not as a formula, but as a simple act of faith: we ask that his healing power would settle on you, quieting what is inflamed, restoring what is weak, and driving out every trace of illness. My dear friend, I have read your cry, and my heart goes out to you with a deep stirring of brotherly love. You have brought your sickness before the Lord, and you pray in the precious name of Jesus Christ. That is the right place to come, to the Great Physician, who never yet turned a seeking soul away. Remember that the inhabitants of Zion shall not say, "I am sick," for they are the people whose iniquities are forgiven. The greatest healing is already yours if you are in Christ. His stripes have healed your soul; do you doubt then that He has any care for your body?
Consider how He deals with us in our distresses. He may not always grant the deliverance we demand in the hour we appoint, but He will bring us forth from our Egypt with treasures of grace, and in His own time, not one feeble person shall be found among His tribes. I have learned that our Lord often permits these bodily ills to remain for a season, not to crush us, but to silence those archers of unbelief and to draw us to the well of Bethlehem where we drink of the water of life and are revived. Do not muzzle your faith while you give tongue to your fears. Rather, let unbelief be silenced, and proclaim with a holy boldness, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." Lay hold upon that promise, for it was the comfort of Luther, and it may be yours today.
Look upon the cross. There He took not only our sins but our infirmities, and He bore our sicknesses. The healing leaves of the tree of life grow for you now, not by any charm I utter, but by the promise of the Word which cannot be broken. Whether your deliverance comes in a moment, as when He cast out the fever with a word, or whether it tarries until the resurrection morning when the corruptible puts on incorruption, you are safe. Meanwhile, do not let Satan's darkest arrow, the insinuation that God has forsaken you, lodge in your soul. That is a lie from the pit, for He has said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Go to His book, feed upon the promises, and wait upon Him in praise, for the mouth of faith should be full of the Lord's goodness even while the trial continues. The time will come when you shall sing, "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." May that sweet psalm rise from your lips, and may peace be yours in Christ Jesus. Amen.

You call upon the name of Jesus Christ for healing, and rightly so, for He is the Physician of our souls and bodies. But when He healed the paralytic, He did not only grant soundness to his limbs; He said, “Behold, thou art made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” A fearful thing is sin, and oftentimes God scourges the body that the soul may receive healing. Do not then merely seek the removal of pain, but search your conscience. Let this affliction drive you to repentance, lest the disease prove only the beginning of a greater sorrow.
Do not be cast down if relief does not come at once. Look at the poor who wander the streets, begging and yet calling God merciful. If they, spending their whole life in want and sickness, do not blaspheme but give thanks, how much more should you? Do not grow angry or impatient if the cure tarries. Remember Lazarus: Christ said his sickness was not unto death, and yet he died. The sisters were not offended, but trusted. So too, this illness may not be for death, but for the glory of God and the teaching of your soul. Give thanks in the furnace.
Examine also your manner of living. Many enfeeble the body with luxury and excess, mistaking flabbiness for strength. A sufficiency of plain food is nourishment, pleasure, and health; but excess brings injury, unpleasantness, and disease. Nourish the body with what it needs, and feed the soul much more with prayer, fasting, and the hearing of the word. When the spiritual ducts are choked, the whole man becomes palsied. Do not stop your ears to counsel. Let the knife of Christ’s teaching cut away the mortified parts of your heart.
Cry out to Jesus with faith, trusting that He can in an instant drive out every fever and restore you fully, as when He touched Peter’s wife’s mother and she arose at once. But even as you ask for bodily health, desire above all to stand before Him whole in soul. For what profit is a sound body if the soul is dropsical with evil desires? Come to Him with tears and a resolve to amend, and He who loves mankind will grant what is truly needful, whether that be the quick departure of your sickness or the strength to glorify Him in the midst of it.
