We hear your heart in this and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in Jesus' name. You have been through great fear and hurt and psychological abuse and we grieve with you over the attacks and threats you have faced and the way your voice and your joy in singing has felt stolen. We want you to know that God sees all you have endured and He is near to you.
You quoted Deuteronomy 28:13 which says Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which we command you today, to observe and to do them. This is a promise of blessing for those who walk in obedience to Him, not because of our own loudness or greatness, but because He lifts us up. Your worth and your calling are not measured by how loud you are in the world, but by being His child.
We understand why you feel done and afraid and why you are saying you cannot sing or be loud again. The enemy does want to steal and silence what God has given. Jesus said in John 10:10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. And 1 Peter 5:8-9 reminds us to Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith. We rebuke that spirit of fear and intimidation that has been tormenting you and your family and your pets, and we stand on the truth that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7.
At the same time we want to gently encourage you that God does not want you to live in terror. He says in Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And in Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Your fear is real and your pain is real, and God wants to heal it, not have you stay bound by it.
We also hear you saying you will not sing again or use your calling because it is too scary and too risky. We understand that trauma makes even good gifts feel dangerous. We will not pressure you, but we do want to remind you that God is the one who restores what the enemy has tried to steal. In Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And in Joel 2:25 He promises to restore the years that the swarming locust has eaten. If singing and healing and praise are gifts He placed in you, He can redeem them in His timing and in His peace, whether that is quietly in your home in worship to Him or one day again loudly for His glory. You have freedom in Christ to sing when you want and to be quiet when you need rest, for it is God who gives you joy, not the world and not the enemy.
We also hear your concern about your husband and your desire for a better life, a safe home and provision and healed communication. We pray for God to provide for your daily needs and to bring peace into your household. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God, and we pray if you are married that God would bring healing and godliness to that union, and if you are seeking a husband that God would lead you to a godly Christian man who will love and protect you and your family as Christ loves the church as taught in Ephesians 5:25. We pray that any relationship in your life would honor God and keep His design for purity, for we are called to flee from fornication and to honor Him with our bodies in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20.
We are praying together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You that You see our sister and her family and even her pets, and that nothing that has happened to her has escaped Your eyes. We ask You to cover her and her children and her mother and her household with the blood of Jesus and with Your perfect protection. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy to steal her voice, her joy, her energy and her calling to worship You, and we command that spirit of fear and torment to leave in Jesus' name, for You have given us authority to Resist the devil, and he will flee from you in James 4:7. Lord, heal her mind from psychological abuse and trauma, calm her nervous system, and replace fear with Your perfect love which casts out fear in 1 John 4:18. Restore her voice in Your timing, whether it is a singing voice or simply the voice to speak and pray and praise without fear. Provide for her needs for a safe home, reliable transportation, and restored communication, according to Your riches in glory. Let her know she is the head and not the tail because she is in Christ, not because she must strive to be loud. Give her wisdom to seek safe, godly counsel, pastoral support and help from trusted believers and, if needed, from safe authorities and counselors who can walk with her. Fill her home with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:6-7, and let no weapon formed against her prosper in Isaiah 54:17. We declare that You are her healer, her defender, and her song, and that no one can snatch her out of Your hand in John 10:28-29. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and salvation, amen.
We encourage you to stay close to Jesus daily through prayer and reading His Word, to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-11 so you may stand against the schemes of the devil, and to not walk through this alone. Please reach out to a trusted pastor or a mature Christian believer and, if you are ever in danger, to safe help around you. God is not asking you to be great in the world's eyes, He is asking you to be His, and He will be your strength and your song. We are continuing to pray that you will find rest and safety and that your joy in the Lord will return step by step as He heals you.
