HE WILL DEFEND THE AFFLICTED
He will defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; he will crush the oppressor. Psalm 72:4
This Lord’s Day will you praise the Lord in the midst of your afflictions, trials and tribulations? The Lord wants us to praise Him in the good times and in the bad times otherwise the rocks will cry out praising the Lord! I pray that thousands of standers who are believers will try praising the Lord every day.
I was having a difficult day this past week and when I ate lunch I did nothing but pray. Then the scripture in Philippians 4:4-7 came to my mind. I chose right then to start quoting that scripture in my mind over and over and over again. Then I started saying, “I know you are faithful Father, I will not look at my circumstances.†I cannot tell you how I felt the presence of the Lord, and I knew He was in control of everything.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
I challenge you today to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His presence to you right now, this Lord’s Day, with your faith expecting. If you are nervous, worried or anxious about any circumstances then stop, pray, quote the scripture in your mind or out loud and then, Rejoice in the Lord always! I know you are faithful Father, I will not look at my circumstances. If the Lord has blessed you with His amazing peace and presence, send us a quick email and let us know. To God be the glory!
Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. Isaiah 49:13
What afflictions are you facing? Will you believe the Lord will defend you and your children? This is a very powerful truth that you need to know and believe as you go through your marriage problems! The Lord God will defend you, the afflicted one. He will save your children who are needy and He will crush the oppressor, who is not your beloved husband or wife. (Ephesians 6:12) The truth is the enemy, the devil, Satan, is out to steal, kill and destroy your marriage and every family member in whatever way he can. But God is greater!
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.†John 10:9-11
When you worship the Kings of Kings today will you praise and worship the God who created everything? Do you feel that your marriage and life is forever destroyed? Do you feel like you are an outcast or considered crazy or a fanatic by your own loved ones? Allow God to defend you. The Lord gave me a very powerful passage of scripture in Isaiah 54 that I would not suffer shame or be ridiculed. Remember I filed for divorce due to my own lack of knowledge and lack of faith in God’s mighty power. Will you choose to believe that your marriage will be restored, regardless of what your spouse is doing right now because of God’s mighty power, His promises and your perseverance?
I looked up the word affliction in The American College Dictionary. Let me share what affliction means: a state of pain, distress or grief, a cause of continued pain of body or mind, as sickness, loss, calamity, persecution. Then I went to Nelson’s Three-In-One Bible Reference Companion and the meaning said: hardships and trials. Does that describe you today?
Do you know how many men, women and children are afflicted, wounded, or have been abused emotionally, verbally or physically who go to church every weekend for the Lord to speak hope to their hurting and bleeding heart? We hear from hurting men and women who have been afflicted by marriage problems due to many different reasons which include adultery, alcohol, drugs, pornography, gambling or other problems.
If you feel that you are afflicted with problems too big for you to bear, go to your Heavenly Father for He comforts His hurting children who are weak and has compassion on His afflicted ones. God will deliver the needy who cry out to Him.
For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight. Psalm 72:12-14
I can personally testify that my Lord helped me through my affliction of divorce when I had no one else. As Bob has said in many of his books he was unfaithful, and I was abused, verbally, emotionally and physically. Bob promised me for 19 years that he would stop, but he stopped for a season and then it would start up again. The enemy, Satan, kept painting my life and marriage as hopeless. I believed Satan’s lies and gave up on Bob and on God. But God! He was faithful to show me all my mistakes after my divorce.
See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. Isaiah 48:10
I totally understand if you have been abused, hurt or wounded by words that destroy you completely. I know the pain you are going through. I know how you have to keep peace in your home and explain to your children about your spouse. Bob is living proof that the Lord can touch and change your spouse’s heart regardless of your present circumstances. Stand on the promises of God!
Allow the Lord to teach you His way which is the only way. Trust your Lord to remove your oppressors who are speaking out accusations or blaming you for all your marriage problems. Stand firm on the Word of God. Wait on your Lord to resurrect your dead, hopeless marriage. Stop doubting and believe that the Lord can work out all your marriage problems, bringing restoration and healing to you, your marriage and to your children.
The Lord will stand up and fight for you when you are afflicted if you will call on His mighty Name! Why not cry out to the Lord today on the Lord’s Day? The Lord is right there beside you waiting for you to surrender your life, your spouse, your children and marriage to Him to rebuild and restore every area of it in His perfect timing. Now, let’s pray for your husband or wife and all prodigals around the world to have the Holy Spirit touch, change and transform their hearts and lives forever this Lord’s Day.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.†Acts 3:19
