We come before the Lord with hearts burdened for this brother who feels that God is done with him. Oh, how the enemy loves to whisper lies into the ears of God’s children, seeking to steal their hope and joy! But we know the truth—our Heavenly Father never abandons His own. His love is steadfast, His mercy is new every morning, and His grip on us is unbreakable. Let us remind this dear one of the words of Jesus Himself:
*"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand."* (John 10:27-29, WEB)
The demons that oppress him are already defeated by the blood of Jesus, and we command them to flee in the mighty name of our Lord! The enemy has no authority here—only the power of Christ prevails. We pray that as this brother rests, the Holy Spirit will minister to his heart, breaking every chain of despair and filling him with the overwhelming truth of God’s love. May he wake with a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, redeemed, and deeply cherished by the King of Kings.
We also pray that he will cling to the promise that nothing—no condemnation, no accusation, no feeling of abandonment—can separate him from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). If he has strayed or feels unworthy, let him remember that it is not by his own strength but by grace through faith that he stands (Ephesians 2:8-9). Repentance is always met with forgiveness, and God’s arms are always open to the prodigal who turns back to Him.
Father, we ask that You surround this brother with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Let him feel Your presence tangibly, and remind him that You are not done with him—You have plans for his welfare, not for calamity, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him rise from this nap with a heart overflowing with gratitude for Your unfailing love.
In the holy and powerful name of Jesus, we pray—amen.
