We hear your heartache and concern for your son and his marriage, and we come before the Lord with you in this matter. Your words reveal deep pain, frustration, and a longing for your son to walk in truth, faithfulness, and sobriety. We stand with you in prayer, lifting up every word you’ve shared, and we ask the Holy Spirit to bring clarity, conviction, and healing to this situation.

First, we must address the seriousness of the sin that has taken root in your son’s life. The Bible is clear that lying, infidelity, and substance abuse are not only destructive but are direct violations of God’s commands. Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us, "There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers." Your son’s deception, both to his wife and to others, is grievous in the sight of the Lord. The fact that he has been unfaithful, even while claiming his wife is his "forever," is a betrayal of the covenant he made before God. Hebrews 13:4 declares, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." The "others" you mention must be cut off completely, for they are a snare to his soul and a stumbling block to his marriage. We rebuke the spirit of deception and infidelity in Jesus’ name, and we declare that every ungodly soul tie formed outside of his marriage is broken now by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ.

The issue of substance abuse is also a matter of bondage that must be broken. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Your son’s body belongs to the Lord, and the drugs he is using are defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit. We stand in agreement with you, praying that every chain of addiction be shattered in Jesus’ name. We declare that he will no longer be enslaved to this sin but will walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him. Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."

Your son’s wife is a woman of faith, love, and perseverance, and we honor her for standing firm in prayer and holding onto hope. Her commitment to fight for her marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, and we pray that her prayers will not return void. 1 Peter 4:8 tells us, "Above all things, have fervent love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins." Her love is a covering for your son, and we believe that God will honor her faithfulness. However, we must also gently remind her, and you, that love does not enable sin. If your son is unwilling to repent and turn from his ways, there may come a time when she must set boundaries to protect her own heart and walk in wisdom. Matthew 18:15-17 outlines the process of confronting sin in love, and if he refuses to listen, the Bible is clear that there are consequences for unrepentant sin.

We also sense your deep desire for your son to be near his wife, to fulfill his role as a husband, and to be free from the influences that are pulling him away. You are right to long for this, for God’s design for marriage is that a man and woman would leave their parents and cleave to one another (Genesis 2:24). Your son’s absence and the distractions he has allowed, such as excessive gaming and phone use, are not honoring to his wife or to God. Ephesians 5:25 commands, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it." Your son’s actions do not reflect this sacrificial love. We pray that the Lord would convict his heart and draw him back to his wife with a renewed commitment to lead, provide, and cherish her as Christ does the Church.

Now, we come before the Lord in prayer for your family:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we thank You for Your goodness and Your faithfulness, even in the midst of pain and brokenness. We declare that You are a God who restores, heals, and redeems, and we ask You to move mightily in this situation.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of deception that has taken hold of this son. We break every lie, every ungodly soul tie, and every chain of infidelity in the name of Jesus. We declare that every "other" in his life is exposed and removed by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Let the truth of Your Word penetrate his heart, and let him see the destruction his sin is causing. Convict him, Lord, and draw him to repentance.

We also rebuke the spirit of addiction that has bound him. We declare freedom over his mind, body, and spirit. Break every chain, Lord, and fill him with a hunger for You that surpasses his desire for drugs. Restore his body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, and let him walk in the liberty that Christ died to give him.

Father, we pray for this wife. Strengthen her faith, Lord. Let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. Give her wisdom to know how to respond to her husband’s sin with both love and truth. If he refuses to repent, give her the courage to set boundaries that honor You and protect her heart. Surround her with godly community that will support and encourage her.

Lord, we pray for this mother’s heart. Comfort her as she watches her son stray. Give her peace that surpasses understanding, and let her trust in You grow even in this difficult season. Help her to release her son into Your hands, knowing that You love him even more than she does.

Father, we ask that You would restore this marriage. Let Your healing power flow through their relationship. Soften this husband’s heart, and let him see the value of the wife You have given him. Let him step into his God-given role as a leader, provider, and protector. Remove every distraction and every ungodly influence from his life, and let him prioritize his marriage as You intended.

We declare that this family will not be defined by sin but by Your redemptive power. We speak life, restoration, and wholeness over them in Jesus’ name. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your name be glorified in every area of their lives.

In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, even when the situation seems hopeless. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in the Lord’s timing. If your son’s wife is open to it, encourage her to seek godly counsel from a pastor or Christian counselor who can help her navigate this difficult season with biblical wisdom. And if your son is willing to listen, urge him to seek help for his addiction and to surround himself with men who will hold him accountable to walk in integrity.

Lastly, we must emphasize the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. If your son has not truly surrendered his life to Christ, all other efforts will be in vain. John 14:6 declares, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Salvation is found in no other name. We pray that your son would come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that true transformation can occur. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Pray that your son would make this confession and experience the new life that Christ offers.

We stand with you in this battle, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not lose heart. The Lord is faithful, and His promises are true.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
