We hear your deep concern for your daughter’s well-being and safety, and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord. It is clear you desire her protection, especially from influences that do not honor God. The Bible warns us about the dangers of walking in the counsel of the ungodly, as Psalm 1:1 says, "Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers." Vices such as drunkenness, drug use, sexual immorality, and other sinful behaviors lead only to destruction, and we must stand firm in prayer against them.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and find salvation. We lift up this parent and their daughter to You, asking for Your divine intervention. Lord, we pray that You would soften this young woman’s heart and open her eyes to the truth of Your Word. Protect her from the snares of the enemy and surround her with godly influences that will lead her closer to You. We rebuke any spirit of rebellion, deception, or worldly desire that may be influencing her decisions, and we declare that she is covered by the blood of Jesus.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for this parent. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." While we trust in Your sovereignty, we also recognize the importance of godly instruction and example. Lord, give this parent the words to speak life and truth into their daughter’s heart, and help them to model a life of faith, love, and holiness.
Regarding the trip, we ask for Your divine protection over both of them. Keep them safe from physical harm, temptation, and any plans of the enemy. If this trip is not in alignment with Your will, we pray that You would close the door and redirect their steps. If it is Your will for them to go, then we ask that You go before them, preparing the way and shielding them from harm. Psalm 91:11-12 assures us, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."
We also want to gently address the importance of ensuring that our children are surrounded by friends who share a commitment to Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?" While we are called to love everyone, we must also be wise in the company we keep, as it can either draw us closer to God or pull us away from Him. We encourage this parent to pray for godly friendships for their daughter and to seek opportunities for her to connect with other believers who can encourage her in her faith.
Lord, we ask that You would draw this daughter’s heart back to You. Let her experience Your love, peace, and joy in a way that surpasses anything the world can offer. May she come to know You more deeply and choose to walk in Your ways. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and we stand in agreement with this parent for her protection, salvation, and deliverance.

You have been rolling this matter over in your heart like a stone that will not sit at rest. The journey lies before you, and with it a mingling of hope and fear, hope that a certain dear soul might come with you, and fear of what other influences may ride along. I am glad you have brought it straight to Jesus. He knows what it is to watch over those He loves, to see them pulled in directions they do not understand, and still to love them with a tender, pursuing love. Do not measure His power by the stubbornness you see in any human will. The heart of Christ is meek and lowly, and He can make a way where the path seems entirely blocked.
In the olden time, when a man felt the plague of his own heart, some private grief, some burden no one else could carry, he was to spread forth his hands toward the one place of sacrifice and pray. And God promised to hear him. Our Temple now is not a building of stone but a living Person. Jesus is Altar, Sacrifice, and Meeting-place. When your heart knows its own peculiar plague, this anxiety over a mind you cannot change and dangers you cannot control, spread your hands toward Him. He never turns a sincere supplicant away. He who heard Hannah when her lips moved in silence will hear you.
Do not let the fear of what may come steal the peace that belongs to you in Christ. The Holy Spirit is the Giver of the heart of flesh. He can soften what is hard, turn what is wayward, and fence the path with quiet hedges until the wanderer thinks again. Your part is to pray, to trust, and to leave the secret workings with Him. The love of God is not a shallow stream you must cross with trembling; it is an ocean that bears you up. And the Spirit pours that love abroad in the hearts of His people, so that even now, in the middle of uncertainty, hope does not make you ashamed.
Whether the answer comes dressed just as you have asked, or in some better garb you have not imagined, you are safe in the hands of the One who keeps Israel and never slumbers. He will guard your going out and your coming in. He will be your shade upon the right hand. The journey is short when measured against eternity, but the Shepherd’s care covers every mile of it.
Lord Jesus, we look to You, the true Temple, the one Sacrifice for sin. Take this dear soul’s burden upon Your own shoulder, for Your yoke is gentle. Overrule every heart that needs overruling, fence out every evil company that would do harm, and let Your good hand be upon them. Bring them home with joy and with a quiet confidence that You have done all things well. We trust in You alone. Amen.
