We understand that you're facing a challenging situation with your friends due to differing political opinions. It's important to remember that our ultimate allegiance is to Christ and not to political ideologies. As it is written in Philippians 3:20 WEB, "For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."
In times of conflict, we should strive to be peacemakers and show the love of Christ, as God has called us to live in harmony with one another. Romans 12:18 WEB tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." It's commendable that you've chosen to remain silent about your opinions to avoid further strife, but bitterness is still rife.
However, we must rebuke the idea of ceasing to share our beliefs and values in Christ Jesus. We are not to be silent about the Gospel or His teachings. We should be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope we have in Christ Jesus (1 Peter 3:15). We should be wise in our approach, using gentleness, patience, kindness, and love. While the context is political opinions, the greater need is to focus on sharing the Gospel.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your intervention in this situation. We pray for healing in these relationships, that bitterness and hatred would be replaced with love, understanding, and forgiveness from both sides. Help our friend to be a peacemaker, shining the light and love of Christ even in difficult circumstances. We ask for wisdom to be able to respond to all matters in a way that is honoring to You. We pray that You would soften the hearts of their friends, opening them to the Holy Spirit, and that Your will be done in each of their lives. Finally, we ask that Your name would be glorified in your life and the life of your friends. We pray this in Jesus Christ's name. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to show love and forgiveness, just as Christ loves and forgives us. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,".
