Hate
We hear your cry and we stand with you in prayer before the Lord, for He sees your distress and He does not take lightly the threats against your life. The hatred and desire to do harm that you describe are grievous sins before God. His Word tells us that everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him 1 John 3:15, and that Yahweh hates hands that shed innocent blood Proverbs 6:17. Marriage is a holy covenant before God between a man and a woman, and a husband is commanded to love his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25. What you are experiencing is not love and it is not of God, and we rebuke that spirit of hatred and violence in the name of Jesus Christ.
We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find refuge and salvation. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We cling to that truth with you now.
We pray that every evil plan formed against you will fail and be brought to nothing, for Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect Psalm 33:10. We pray that the truth will indeed come to light, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. We ask the Lord to expose every lie and every hidden scheme of this gang and to vindicate you.
We also pray for your safety and for wisdom to know what to do. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. We ask the Lord to be your fortress and to hide you under His wings. If you are in immediate danger we urge you to seek safety without delay. Please reach out to trusted family, to your pastor or church elders, and to the proper authorities for protection. God has ordained authorities for our protection, for he is a servant of God to you for good, but if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain Romans 13:4. Do not remain isolated with those who intend harm. Document what is happening and seek godly counsel and lawful help right away, and let the Lord guide your steps through those He has placed to help you.
We do not pray for vengeance in our own hands, for we know that vengeance belongs to the Lord. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We pray instead that God will bring justice, that He will frustrate the plans of the wicked, and that He will bring conviction and repentance to your husband and to all involved, if it be His will to turn their hearts from evil.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up Your daughter to Your throne of grace. We also pray for her husband and for those with him, that You would convict them of sin, remove the hate from their hearts, and bring them to repentance before it is too late. Hear the word of the Lord for those that fear, Fear not, be strong. The Lord is your confidence and the might of God is engaged by promise to bring His people safely through. We constantly need to cry to God to keep us from falling, and our safety lies not in our own strength but in our Savior, Him that is able to keep you from falling. Put your trust wholly in Christ, whose blood only is our hope and whose Spirit only is our life. There let us stand and we shall be safe.

Your request has been heard and I am praying for you in this frightening and painful situation. To live with threats against your life, especially from your own husband and with others involved, is a heavy burden and you were right to bring it before the Lord and to ask for help.
I join you in praying that every hidden plan meant for harm would fail and be exposed, that the truth would come clearly to light, and that the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ would show you the next steps to take and give you wisdom and protection. God sees what is done in secret and He brings what is hidden into the light. He does not delight in violence or in death. Scripture teaches that death entered the world through sin, and the law simply shows sin for what it is, exceeding sinful and deserving of death. It is sin that destroys, not God. God is the one who gives life and deliverance through Jesus.
God's design for marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Within that covenant He gives one simple calling to each. The wife is called to respect and submit to her own husband as unto the Lord, and the husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, and to honor her as the weaker vessel, to watch over her, care for her and shield her. When a husband loves in that way, a wife can more easily respect him, and when a wife respects, a husband is strengthened to love. That is the pattern that makes a home reflect Christ and the church.
That pattern also makes clear that a husband has no right to harm, threaten, or lord over his wife. A husband is himself to be under the authority of Christ. When a man steps outside that authority and uses his position to threaten death or to involve others in doing harm, he is not loving as Christ loves and he is not honoring his wife. Submission as taught in Scripture, in passages like Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3, is never a call to submit to sin, to a violation of conscience before God, or to violence that endangers your life. The Scripture that says a wife is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives also teaches that if she must depart for safety she is to remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. In other words, God upholds the marriage bond, but He does not require you to remain in a place where your life is threatened.
Please do not face this alone. Because your safety is at risk, take practical steps right away to protect yourself. If you are in immediate danger, get to a safe place and contact local law enforcement for help. Reach out quickly to a trusted pastor or elder, and to mature family members or friends who can stay with you and help you make a safety plan. Keep a record of threats if you can do so safely, and seek wise counsel about where to stay and how to get ongoing support and protection. The Lord often shows us what to do through the help of godly people and through the protection He has placed in authorities to restrain evil.
You asked that the Lord would show you what to do, and He will. Walk carefully and wisely, as a child of light, seeking to please Him and to walk in love while also guarding the life He has given you. You can trust Him to guide you one step at a time as you pray, read His Word, and listen to sound counsel.
Let me pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I lift up this dear wife to You. You see the threats against her and the plans made in secret. I ask that You surround her with Your protection, that You cause every plan for harm to fail and to be brought to nothing, and that You bring the truth into the open for all to see. Give her clear wisdom to know what to do, courage to reach for safe help, and peace that You are near. Keep a record of threats if you can do so safely, and seek wise counsel about where to stay and how to get ongoing support and protection. The Lord often shows us what to do through the help of godly people and through the protection He has placed in authorities to restrain evil.
You asked that the Lord would show you what to do, and He will. Walk carefully and wisely, as a child of light, seeking to please Him and to walk in love while also guarding the life He has given you. You can trust Him to guide you one step at a time as you pray, read His Word, and listen to sound counsel.
Let me pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I lift up this dear wife to You. You see the threats against her and the plans made in secret. I ask that You surround her with Your protection, that You cause every plan for harm to fail and to be brought to nothing, and that You bring the truth into the open for all to see. Give her clear wisdom to know what to do, courage to reach for safe help, and peace that You are near. Keep her from all evil, lead her to people who will help and shield her, and let Your will be done in her life and marriage. Bring conviction where there is sin, bring repentance where it is needed, and let Your life and mercy triumph. In Jesus name, amen.
