Hard run of luck. I am losing everything.

Disciple of Prayer
I need help. This morning my car blew up. I have lost my job. Stress at home we have a house to sell and if we don't we will be homeless. I'm having a really hard time coping with this much on my plate. I know people have it worse I'm just having a hard time baring it all.

We hear the weight of your struggle, and our hearts ache with yours in this season of overwhelming trial. The loss of your car, your job, the looming threat of homelessness, and the strain on your home—these are not small burdens to carry. It is right to acknowledge the depth of your pain, for even our Lord Jesus wept when faced with suffering. You are not alone in this, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting every care to the One who promises to sustain His children.

First, we must address the foundation of your hope. In times like these, it is easy to feel abandoned, but Scripture assures us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we find true peace and strength. If you have not confessed Him as Lord, now is the time to do so, for He is the only sure anchor in the storm.

Now, let us rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to overwhelm you. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to believe that your situation is hopeless, but we declare that God is your provider, your sustainer, and your deliverer. The Lord has not forgotten you, and He will not abandon you. We speak life over your circumstances and command every spirit of lack, fear, and anxiety to flee in the name of Jesus. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you (Romans 8:37), and we stand on the promise that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

We also lift up your marriage in this time of stress. Trials can either draw a couple closer to God and each other or drive a wedge between them. We pray that you and your spouse would cling to one another, united in prayer and purpose. Remember that marriage is a covenant before God, and He is faithful to strengthen those who honor Him in their union. Do not let the pressures of this season cause you to turn on one another, but instead, let it refine you as a couple, drawing you into deeper dependence on the Lord.

For your financial struggles, we pray that God would open doors of provision in ways you cannot imagine. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We ask Him to guide you to wise counsel, whether it be through financial advice, job opportunities, or even the sale of your home. Trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), even when the path is unclear.

For your emotional and mental well-being, we pray for peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). The weight you are carrying is heavy, but cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Do not hesitate to seek godly counsel or support from your church community. You were not meant to carry this burden alone, and there is no shame in asking for help. The Lord often provides through the hands and hearts of His people.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing overwhelming trials. Lord, You see every detail of their struggle—the loss, the fear, the uncertainty—and we ask You to move mightily on their behalf. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and declare that You are their provider, their strength, and their hope. We ask You to open doors of provision, whether through a job, the sale of their home, or unexpected blessings. Lord, we pray for their marriage, that You would knit their hearts together in unity and purpose, and that they would lean on You together in this storm.

Father, we ask for Your peace to guard their heart and mind. Give them the strength to endure, the wisdom to make godly decisions, and the faith to trust in Your promises. Surround them with Your presence, and let them feel Your love in tangible ways. We declare that this season of lack will not define them, but rather, it will refine them and draw them closer to You. We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we thank You for Your unfailing love. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to the promises of God, dear one. This trial is not the end of your story—it is a chapter that God will use to shape you, strengthen you, and draw you closer to Him. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and remember that He is working all things for your good. You are not forgotten, and you are not forsaken. Stand firm, and let your faith be the anchor that holds you steady in the storm.

We're here with you, holding your hands up in prayer. It's like we're all sitting around the same table, sharing a pot of coffee, and you're telling us about the storm you're weathering. We see you, dear friend, and we're not going anywhere.

We know you're feeling overwhelmed, like you're trying to hold onto a handful of sand. Your car, your job, your home - it's a lot to lose, and it's okay to feel like you're drowning. But remember, even Jesus felt overwhelmed in the garden of Gethsemane. He asked for strength, and God was there for Him. He's here for you too.

We want to encourage you to keep clinging to your faith. It's like that old rope in the storm - it might look frayed and worn, but it's held fast in the rock. God is your rock, and He's not going anywhere. Keep holding on, even if it's just by a thread. That's enough for Him to work with.

We're also praying for your family. It's like you're all in a little boat, tossed by waves, but you're not alone. God is in that boat with you, and He's got His arms around each one of you. We're asking Him to knit your hearts together, to make you stronger as a family. We're praying for unity, for peace, for love that's unshakable.

And we're asking God to provide. We know it feels like you're at the end of your rope, but remember, God specializes in the impossible. He's the God who parted seas and fed thousands with a few loaves and fish. He's not limited by your circumstances. So, we're asking Him to open doors you never thought possible, to surprise you with His goodness.

We're also reminding you to take care of yourself. It's like you're in a marathon, and you need to pace yourself. It's okay to ask for help, to lean on others. That's what community is for. So, reach out, lean in, and let others carry some of your load.

Keep your eyes on Jesus, dear one. He's got you, and He's working all this for your good. It might not feel like it now, but He's got a plan, and it's a good one. Trust Him, and keep holding on. We're right here with you, every step of the way.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
