Beloved Servant
Please pray for an end to demonic harassment that has targeted me for many years of my life. I have also posted before about experiencing harassment by people who were doing so under the influence of demons that came into my life when I was in the new age. Well, God has helped me see that problems with unforgiveness kept these demons being able to harass me. After this, I began to theorize that making peace with these people who have been harassing me was the key to finally putting an end to this demonic harassment and have been trying to do so. Please pray for me about this. This is not going to be an easy or simple process as harmful things have been done on both my end and theirs and reaching out to reconcile has been nerve wrecking for me. There is also demonic activity involved affecting these people and causing them to behave out of the ordinary way they usually would in very evil ways in addition to some of them being unsaved/deceived by false teachings which could also impact how they respond to me. This has also caused concerns for me as I reach out. I am noticing that many of these people don't really actually seem as if they are trying to rebuild a relationship with me at a personal level apart from public perception. I'm also concerned because there are people in my life who under the influence of this same demonic activity were pressuring me to make peace with these people and they seem blind to the reality of the situation in multiple ways. It's like they're under some kind of spell. Also, it seems that God does not actually want me to have close relationships with these people based on things that are happening as I reach out to them. I really wish I had someone to talk to about this who could understand the kind of things happening here including the demonic activity. Maybe my pastor and elders might...Please pray. Thank you.

We have read your request and we stand with you in this long and painful battle, and we thank God that He has already given you insight into the root of unforgiveness that the enemy has used as a foothold. We understand how heavy and nerve wracking this has been, trying to make peace while also discerning demonic influence, deception, and the reality that not every relationship is meant to be restored to closeness.

The Lord shows us that unforgiveness does give the enemy a place. As it is written, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, and do not give place to the devil, Ephesians 4:26-27. We also read, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses, Matthew 6:14-15. We rejoice that you have begun to forgive, for that is obedience and it closes a door the enemy has used for harassment. Forgiveness is a command and a matter of the heart before God, and it is to be offered freely as we have been forgiven, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32, and Forgive each other. If any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do, Colossians 3:13.

Yet forgiveness and reconciliation are not the same. Scripture says, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, Romans 12:18. That word if it is possible shows us that peace and restored fellowship depend not only on you but on the other person's repentance, truthfulness, and willingness to walk in the light. Rebuilding a close relationship requires trust, repentance, and shared faith, and it is not required or wise to pursue close fellowship with those who remain under deception, false teaching, or demonic influence, or who are unsaved and show no fruit of genuine change. We are warned, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity, or what communion has light with darkness, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and Do not enter into the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil men, Proverbs 4:14. Your discernment that God does not want you to have close relationships with these people, even as you seek to forgive and be at peace, aligns with that wisdom, and we encourage you to honor that boundary while still releasing them in forgiveness.

We also must address the spiritual warfare you describe. Your struggle is not only with people, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. The new age practices you came out of are an abomination to God and open doors to deceiving spirits, as written, There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, Deuteronomy 18:10. We urge you to continue to renounce and turn completely from all new age beliefs, practices, and objects, confessing them as sin and receiving cleansing through Christ, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. The enemy is defeated when we submit to God and resist him, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and we are to Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4. We also see that those pressuring you while seeming blind or under a spell need prayer, for Satan blinds the minds of the unbelieving, and only God can open eyes.

We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to the Father and no other name by which we are saved and delivered. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death on the cross for our sins and His resurrection, that we have forgiveness, authority over demons, and access to God in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and walk daily in that salvation. If you already belong to Him, we encourage you to pray and command in His name alone, for at His name demons must flee.

We strongly affirm your desire to talk with your pastor and elders. That is biblical and wise. We pray they will have discernment, understanding of spiritual warfare, and compassion for what you have endured, and that God will give you a safe, grounded community where you are heard and protected. Do not be pressured by others to reconcile in a way that ignores the reality of demonic activity or your safety. True biblical peacemaking never requires you to remain in harm or to pretend a relationship is healed when it is not.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for this dear one whom You love and for whom Christ died. We thank You that You have revealed the trap of unforgiveness and have led toward forgiveness. We ask You to complete that work, helping to forgive fully from the heart every person who has harmed, even as You have forgiven in Christ, and to release all bitterness and debt. We ask You to close every door that was opened through the new age, through unforgiveness, and through any unholy influence, and we renounce those things in Jesus name and ask for Your cleansing by the blood of Jesus. We ask You to deliver from all demonic harassment, to break every assignment and oppression, and to let the enemy flee as we submit to You and resist him. We place Your armor upon this life, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the feet fitted with the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is Your word. We ask for wisdom and discernment to know the difference between forgiveness and restored fellowship, to know when to be at peace from a distance and when to set a boundary, and to not be manipulated by pressure from others who do not see clearly. We pray for those who have harassed and for those who are unsaved or deceived by false teachings, that You would open their eyes, bring them to repentance and to salvation in Jesus, and stop the evil that has operated through them. We pray for protection over mind, body, home, and sleep, for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7, and for courage and calm in every step of reaching out or stepping back as You lead. We ask You to anoint the pastor and elders with wisdom, understanding, and the ability to counsel in truth and love, and to provide a safe community where this burden can be shared. We declare that You are a refuge and fortress, and that no weapon formed against Your child will prosper. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Deliverer, trusting that You hear us and that You are faithful to bring freedom, healing, and Your perfect will. Amen.

We encourage you to remain daily in the Word, in prayer in Jesus name, and in fellowship with mature believers who hold to sound doctrine. Test the spirits, 1 John 4:1, keep your heart guarded, and remember that the Lord is your deliverer and He will bring this harassment to an end in His timing. We are continuing to pray for your freedom, your peace, and for God to be glorified in your testimony.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. We hear how heavy and nerve wracking this has been, carrying years of harassment, wanting to do what is right before God, and at the same time feeling unsure about who to trust and how far reconciliation should go.

What you noticed matters. Releasing someone before God and rebuilding a close relationship are not the same thing. You can choose to let go of the need for payback and wish them well, and still recognize that trust has been broken and closeness may not be wise or possible, especially if you are sensing God is not leading you into close fellowship with some of these people. It is understandable to feel pressure from others who do not see what you are seeing, and it is also understandable to feel exhausted by trying to manage all of these conversations at once.

Your thought about talking with your pastor and elders seems like a good next step. We would encourage you to reach out to one of them soon, not to carry every story at once, but to share with one trusted, steady pastor or elder what feels most urgent right now and ask for their help in discerning next steps and healthy boundaries. You do not have to navigate this alone or all at once.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the history, the hurt done on both sides, and the weariness in trying to make peace. Give wisdom, protection, and clear guidance for each relationship, and surround them with trustworthy counsel and Your peace. Help them to rest securely in Christ and to walk step by step as You lead. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden has been brought before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard your cry for deliverance from long harassment and for wisdom in the path of forgiveness.

There is forgiveness with God, and there is deliverance that comes only from His hand. The Word declares, There is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. This is not a forgiveness found in our own strivings or in the favor of men, but a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, complete forgiveness, eternal forgiveness, obtained only through Jesus Christ His Son, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. He has found a ransom, and therefore your deliverance is certain, for it rests not upon your ability to make peace, but upon the blood of the Lamb slain. He brought them forth, and He alone brings forth His people from bondage. Deliverance from sin and from the power of the enemy is solely by the power of God, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

You have rightly seen that unforgiveness can give place to the enemy, and that we who have been so manifestly forgiven ought to forgive as we have been forgiven. For Christ's sake God hath forgiven us, and therefore we practice that joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us. Yet hear this for your comfort, the forgiveness God requires of you is first a matter between your soul and Him, and then a release in your heart toward those who have harmed you before the Lord. It does not depend upon their response, nor does it require that you rebuild close relationships with those who remain under deception, who are unsaved, or who continue to walk in evil ways under demonic influence.

To forgive is to obey Christ and to be free before God. To be reconciled and to restore close fellowship is another thing, and Scripture teaches that it requires repentance, truth, and safety. As far as it lieth in you, live peaceably with all men, but peace with all men does not mean intimate fellowship with all men, especially where there is ongoing harm, false teaching, or spiritual darkness. The Lord would have you be wise and discerning, and not unequally yoked with unbelief. If you have perceived that God does not will close relationships with these persons, and that their interest is in public perception rather than honest repentance, you do well to heed that discernment. Guarding your heart and keeping boundaries is not unforgiveness, it is wisdom.

You also mention pressure from others who seem blind to the reality and who urge you toward peace at any cost, as if under a spell. Remember that true peace within our borders is a gift of God, not the product of human pressure. Do not be moved by the urgency of men when the Lord calls you to walk carefully. Your desire to speak with your pastor and elders is from the Lord, and we urge you to do so without delay. Bring these matters into the light with faithful shepherds who can know you, hear the whole account, test what is of God, pray over you, and help you discern between forgiveness, reconciliation, and protection from further harassment. Do not walk this nerve wracking path alone.

We will pray for you.

Our Father, we thank Thee that there is forgiveness with Thee, full and free through the ransom found in Christ Jesus. We ask Thee to seal to our dear one the certainty of Thy complete forgiveness, and to grant a heart that continues daily to forgive as it has been forgiven. We ask for deliverance from all demonic harassment, for Thou alone canst bring forth Thy people with power. Let the clock of mercy strike for full deliverance, and let the enemy be rebuked by the blood of Christ. Grant wisdom to forgive without being ensnared into unsafe intimacies, grant discernment to know when to speak and when to be silent, when to step forward and when to step back. Guard this soul from pressure that is not of Thee, open the eyes of any who are blinded, and save those among these harassers who are yet unsaved and deceived by false teachings, that they may come to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Lead Thy child to faithful pastors and elders and give those shepherds words of truth and grace. Keep this one in peace, in holiness, and in the sure hope of Thy salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Redeemer, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly and for your perseverance in seeking the Lord through many years of harassment. What you describe is heavy and complex, involving past involvement in the new age, ongoing spiritual oppression, hurt done both by others and by you, and pressure from people around you, and it is understandable that reaching out to others feels nerve wracking and confusing.

Scripture is clear that our hope and deliverance rest in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through His blood that we receive forgiveness and authority over the enemy. When you turned away from the new age, that was the right step, to renounce what is false and to cling to Christ. If there are still objects, practices, or agreements from that time that have not been fully confessed and renounced before the Lord, bring them into the light with your pastor and elders so you can openly turn from them and rest in Christ's finished work.

You are right to see the connection between unforgiveness and giving the enemy a foothold. As you noted, Ephesians warns us not to let the sun go down on our anger so that we give no opportunity to the devil, and Jesus teaches us to forgive as we have been forgiven, not because the other person has earned it, but because we have first been forgiven so much. Mourning over our own sins and receiving His forgiveness is where true comfort begins, and that forgiveness is a gift of grace, not a reward for our works. God does not limit His mercy to merely removing punishment, He blesses and restores those who come to Him in repentance.

Forgiveness, however, is not the same as rebuilding close relationship or restoring trust. Scripture calls us to forgive from the heart and, as far as it depends on us, to live at peace with everyone, but peace and reconciliation also require truth, repentance, and safety on the other side. Romans 12:18 says if possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. That means you can release these people to God, desire their good and salvation, and be willing to speak truth without being required to enter back into close fellowship with those who continue to act in harmful or evil ways, especially while they remain unsaved or deceived by false teaching. It is wise and biblical that you are sensing God may not want you to have close relationships with these people at this time. Boundaries are not unforgiveness, they are often part of wisdom and protection.

It is also wise to notice the pressure you feel from others who urge you to make peace quickly while seeming blind to the spiritual reality and the harm involved. Do not make major decisions about reconciliation under pressure or in isolation. God has given the local church, pastors and elders, to help you discern what faithful steps look like, to pray with you, to test what is happening, and to stand with you against spiritual attack. You mentioned that maybe your pastor and elders might understand, please go to them soon and share the full story as you have shared it here, including the demonic activity and the history in the new age, so they can counsel you face to face, pray for you regularly, and help you determine what communication, if any, is wise with each person.

In the meantime, keep close to the ordinary means of grace. Stay rooted in Scripture, in prayer, in fellowship, and in the Lord's Table where Christ's reconciliation for sinners is proclaimed. Put on the armor of God each day, submit to God and resist the devil, and he will flee. When harassing thoughts or influences come, answer them with truth about who you are in Christ, a forgiven child of God, and call on His name.

I will pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I ask for Your mercy and protection over this dear one who has endured long harassment. Thank You that salvation and forgiveness are found in Christ alone and that His cross has disarmed the powers of darkness. Grant deep assurance of sins forgiven and a heart freed to forgive others as You have forgiven. Break every remaining tie to the new age and every foothold the enemy has claimed through unforgiveness or past sin, and fill this place with Your peace. Give wisdom to know the difference between forgiveness and trust, and between peacemaking and close fellowship. Provide godly counsel through a faithful pastor and elders who will listen, discern, and walk alongside with truth and love. Guard against pressure and confusion, protect from all evil and deception, and lead to a better and lasting hope in Your presence. Comfort the mourning heart and show that You are near to deliver. In Jesus name, Amen.

Please do not walk through this alone. Reach out to your pastor and elders this week, keep them informed of any contact with those who have harassed you, and continue to bring every fear and decision to the Lord in prayer.

Thank you for sharing so openly about the long and painful harassment you have endured and for your honesty about the struggle with unforgiveness and the difficult steps you have tried to take toward peace.

What you have described fits with what Scripture shows about the reality of evil spirits. They are real, intelligent beings who can influence people to act in ways that are cruel and beyond normal human explanation, and they can speak and cry out when confronted by the authority of Jesus. The Bible also shows that there is a place of confinement for such spirits, distinct from the place of departed human souls, where God restrains them until His appointed time. At times He allows demonic activity to be seen on earth, and when that happens no physical hiding place like a basement or a locked room can protect a person, because the torment is spiritual. Only spiritual protection in Christ can guard you.

Scripture also teaches that unforgiveness is spiritually destructive. When it is held onto it eats away at the heart, creates mental turmoil and gives an opening for the enemy to harass. Learning to forgive is therefore vital, not because the harm did not matter, but because forgiveness releases the matter into God's hands. The Lord's prayer itself teaches us to bring our daily needs to God under four personal headings: His provision for us, His forgiveness toward us and through us, His guidance, and His deliverance from evil. You are right to see that God wants you to walk in a forgiving spirit.

Forgiveness, however, is not the same as reconciliation or rebuilding close relationships. God has made provision for our reconciliation with Himself through Jesus Christ, who though He knew no sin was made sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. That is the foundation for all forgiveness. From that place, He calls us to forgive others as we have been forgiven, to leave vengeance and judgment to Him and not to brood over wrongs.

Reconciliation between people, on the other hand, requires repentance, truth, and safety on both sides. The Bible asks what fellowship light can have with darkness and what harmony Christ can have with what opposes Him. If people remain unsaved, deceived by false teaching, or still behaving in harmful and evil ways under demonic influence, it is not wise or required to pursue close fellowship with them. To forgive from the heart and to entrust them to God does not mean you must restore trust, grant access to your life, or seek an intimate relationship. It is understandable that reaching out has felt nerve wracking and that you have sensed that some responses have been more about public appearance than genuine personal restoration. It is also understandable that you feel concerned when others around you pressure you to make peace while seeming blind to the spiritual realities and the harm that has occurred. People can be influenced without realizing it, and that is why discernment is needed.

The fact that you are sensing God may not want you to have close relationships with these individuals is worth paying attention to. The call to watch and to keep our garments clean before the Lord includes guarding our hearts and our fellowship. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and if you belong to Jesus, you are not left without defense. You do not need to be delivered again and again by dramatic means, you need to stand in what Christ has already provided, walking in forgiveness, in daily dependence on Him for guidance and deliverance, and in wisdom about boundaries.

It is wise that you are considering talking with your pastor and elders. Please do that. Bring them the full picture, including the history in the new age, the patterns of harassment, the pressure you have felt, and your questions about forgiveness and boundaries. God has placed shepherds in the church to help you discern what is of Him, what requires firm boundaries, and how to walk forward without being drawn back into harmful entanglements. You should not carry this alone, and you need counsel from mature believers who can pray with you in person and help you test what you are experiencing against Scripture.

I am praying for you now.

Father, I lift this dear one to You through Jesus Christ, the only way of salvation. Thank You for opening their eyes to the seriousness of unforgiveness and for drawing them out of deception into Your light. I ask You to deepen Your forgiveness in their heart, to help them release every hurt and every person who has harmed them fully into Your hands, and to heal the wounds that years of harassment have left. Provide for every need, guide every step, and deliver from every evil influence and torment. Surround them with Your protection, clothe them in the righteousness of Christ, and help them to watch and walk in purity and wisdom. Give clear discernment about when to speak, when to remain separate, and when to set boundaries, and guard them from pressure that is not from You. Lead them to faithful pastoral counsel where they can be heard, understood, and prayed for with understanding of spiritual warfare. Let them know in a deeper way that Christ in them is greater than any power that opposes them, and bring lasting peace that comes from resting in Your Son. In Jesus name, Amen.
