Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Our family and I want to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year. We pray that this new year you will have a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. We pray that you will pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We pray that the Lord will do a mighty work, not only in your life, but also in your husband’s or wife’s life and in your children's lives this year.

David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior - from violent men you save me. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am savedfrom my enemies." 2 Samuel 22:1-4

Are you going to try to read the Bible through this year? I try every year, but sometimes I slow down and start meditating on the Word, and I say, "Lord, Thy will be done. Let me be a diligent student and doer of the Word. Teach me more about Your Word, Your precepts, and Your promises this year." There is power in the Word of God and we need to know the Word of God to defeat the enemy. Let's learn more about His Word together this New Year.

Today read 2 Samuel Chapter 22. David is worshiping and praising God for deliverance from Saul, his most evil, personal enemy. The word "delivered" is usedthree times in the chapter. This chapter expresses the theme that God, "Yahweh," is always there to rescue David or you wheneveryou need the help. David had flashbacks to the vivid pictures of protection and deliverance from his past as a shepherd boy. Remember the answers to your prayers and the miracles that the Lord has done for you and your family previously.

The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident...For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:1-3, 5

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:1-4

This year chooseto learn more about your awesome, mighty God. He is going to beyour Light, your Refuge, your Fortress, your Rock, your Shield, your Defender and your Deliverer. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom and knowledge as you read and study the Word of God.

Start asking the Lord, "What do you want me to do this year for You?" Listen to His assignment and be obedientto His Word and His way. Do you know the Word of God well enough to share with other people for salvation, for hope, and for encouragement? Do you know all the scriptures regardingmarriage and divorce? Have you done a study on them? If your spouse's heart is hardened, do a study on the heart. You can bethe student and your Lord God will be your Teacher and your great Counselor!

God has a plan and a purpose for you, your spouse and your family! He will never fail you. Seek and grow in the Lord. The more you read and study the Word of God, your faith and strength will grow and increase within your body, soul and spirit. You can speak God’s Word to defeat the enemy.

Do not allow the enemy to steal anything else. Do not allow the evil one to steal your faith, your joy, your hope, your success, your finances, your health, healing of your wounded heart and the restoration ofyour marriage. Stand on the promises of God. Nothing is impossible.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:35-36
