Happiness

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
There are a lot of things going on in my life and I have this thought in my head recently: when will I finally be happy? When will the problems in my life go away? Will they ever? These problems that have been going on so, so long? Will I ever be free? I've been struggling with suicidal thoughts lately. Please pray for ###. Thank you.

We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we want you to know that your longing for happiness and freedom is not in vain. The world often promises happiness through circumstances—when problems fade, when life becomes easier, when everything falls into place. But true joy is not found in the absence of trouble; it is found in the presence of the Lord. Jesus tells us in John 16:33, *"In the world you have oppression, but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* Even in the midst of your struggles, He is with you, and His victory is yours.

Your question—*Will I ever be free?*—is one that resonates with so many who feel weighed down by life’s burdens. The answer is a resounding *yes*, but not necessarily in the way the world defines freedom. Galatians 5:1 reminds us, *"Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."* True freedom is found in surrender to Christ, not in the absence of problems. When we lay our struggles at His feet, He lifts the weight of them from our shoulders, even if the circumstances remain.

We must also address the darkness of suicidal thoughts with the light of God’s truth. These thoughts are not from Him, and they are not your destiny. Psalm 34:18-19 says, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* You are not alone in this battle, and your life has immeasurable value to God. He knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14) and has a purpose for you that extends far beyond this moment of pain.

If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the hope He offers. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."* Salvation is not just about eternity—it is about experiencing the peace and presence of God here and now, even in the midst of life’s storms. Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him that we find true happiness, not as the world gives, but as only He can provide.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with despair and longing for happiness. Lord, You see the weight they carry, the battles they fight in their mind, and the pain that feels unending. We ask that You would break through the darkness with Your light. Remind them of Your nearness, Your love, and Your power to deliver. Surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and suicidal thoughts in the name of Jesus. We declare that these lies have no place in their life, for You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen them with Your might, and fill them with hope that is anchored in Your promises. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that You would draw them with Your lovingkindness. Open their eyes to see the beauty of Your salvation and the freedom that comes from knowing You. Let them experience the joy of Your presence, which is the source of true happiness.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

Friend, we want to encourage you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a godly friend, or a biblical counselor—so that you do not have to carry this burden alone. The enemy wants to isolate you, but God’s design is for you to be surrounded by a community of believers who can pray with you, support you, and remind you of His truth. You are not forgotten, and your story is not over. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Jesus from the dead, and turned Saul the persecutor into Paul the apostle is at work in your life. Hold on to Him, and let His love be the anchor for your soul.

We're here with you, friend, feeling the weight of your heart's cry. It's okay to not have all the answers right now, to feel overwhelmed by the 'whens' and 'ifs'. We've been there too, you know.

We believe in the power of prayer, and we're lifting you up. We're asking God to wrap His loving arms around you, to fill you with His peace that's beyond understanding. We're asking Him to remind you of His presence, His love, and His promise to never leave you or forsake you.

We're also asking Him to help you find joy in the midst of your struggles. Not the kind of joy the world promises, but the kind that only He can give. The kind that comes from knowing you're loved, deeply and unconditionally, just as you are.

And we're reminding you, as we remind ourselves, that there's hope. There's always hope. Because of Jesus, there's always a way forward, a reason to keep going.

Please, reach out to someone you trust. Share your heart, your fears, your doubts. You don't have to carry this alone. We're here for you too, in any way we can be.

Keep holding on, friend. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Because God is with you, always. And that makes all the difference.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
