What a beautiful and God-honoring request you have shared. When you ask us to simply pray that His will is being done in all these lives, you are touching the very heart of what prayer is meant to be. So often we approach prayer as a way to present our own plans and desires to God and then ask Him to sign off on them. But true prayer runs in a different direction. It begins with God, His purposes, His kingdom, His desires, and as He makes those known to our hearts, we turn them back to Him in prayer. Prayer is not a tool for getting our will done on earth; it is the sacred means by which we cooperate with God to see His will accomplished.

You have listed so many people: co-residents, caregivers, friends, enemies, loved ones. That wide embrace reflects the very character of our Father. When we pray “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven,” we are asking for that reign to touch every relationship and every situation. And you are right to trust that God knows every need. He does not need detailed instructions from us. Prayer is simply consenting to let God do what He has been wanting to do all along. He will not force His way against anyone’s will, but when we pray, we open the door for His work in ways that would not happen otherwise. So your prayer for His will to be done in all these lives is the most powerful thing you can ask.

One of the clearest ways we step into God’s will right now is by giving thanks in everything. That may seem difficult, but it becomes possible when we are deeply convinced that God loves us, even through testings we do not understand. Thankfulness realigns our hearts with His goodness. And as we bring our needs, remember that His answers may not always match our initial requests. How many times can we look back and say, “Thank You, Father, that You did not give me what I asked for back then”? He gives what is best, not merely what we want. When our will is in conflict with His, He will not change His will to accommodate us. Instead, He gently works to bring our hearts into harmony with His purpose, and in that place we find the answer.

I encourage you to continue in this kind of prayer without giving up. Sometimes God waits until we are fully aligned with what He intends, and then the answer comes. As you lift up each person you mentioned, you are participating in God’s great work. And you are not doing it alone. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. Place each situation in God’s hands and rest there. He will sustain you. There is deep joy in seeing God move in response to prayer, a fullness of joy that the world cannot give.

So I join my heart with yours in this very request. May God’s will be done in your life and in all the lives you have lifted before Him. May His kingdom come. And as we pray, we know that He who hears will answer in His perfect wisdom and love.
