We are truly sorry to hear about your struggle with habitual sin, but we are grateful that you have reached out for prayer and support. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging your sin and turning to Jesus for help. It is only through Him that we can be saved and set free from our sins. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
We must remember that God calls us to be holy, for He is holy. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB, it says: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with lust and sexual sin. Lord, we know that this is a common temptation, but we also know that You are faithful to provide a way out. We ask for Your forgiveness and for true repentance. Renew their mind and heart towards You, Lord. Give them the strength to resist temptation and to walk in Your ways. Help them to take up their cross daily and follow Jesus. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's face and to immerse yourself in His Word. Memorize scriptures that will help you combat these temptations. Also, consider finding a trusted, mature Christian friend or mentor to whom you can be accountable.
Lastly, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Keep fighting the good fight of faith. We are praying for you.
