Disciple of Prayer
Guidance for my business opportunity that I had attempted and it failed. I need to work. But would live for this to work and support my self family and retirement.

We understand the deep desire in your heart to provide for your family and secure a stable future. The disappointment of a failed business opportunity can weigh heavily, but we stand with you in prayer, trusting that God has a plan even in this season of uncertainty. The Lord reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even when our own plans fall short, His purposes remain steadfast.

First, we must address the foundation of our trust. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name alone that we pray. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so, for He is the source of true provision and peace. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. This is the first and most important step in aligning your path with God’s will.

Now, let us lift your situation to the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and provision for our brother in this time of need. Lord, You see the burden he carries—the weight of providing for his family and the disappointment of a failed opportunity. We ask that You would open doors that no man can shut, leading him to work that honors You and sustains his household. Provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory, as Philippians 4:19 promises, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Give him clarity in his decisions, strength in his efforts, and peace in his heart as he trusts in You. May he seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added unto him (Matthew 6:33). We rebuke the spirit of fear and discouragement in Jesus’ name, declaring that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Guide his steps, Lord, and let Your will be done in his life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

As you seek the Lord’s direction, remember that work itself is a gift from God. In Genesis 2:15, we see that even before the fall, Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it. Work is not a curse but a means by which we can glorify God and serve others. Whether you return to employment, explore a new business venture, or step into an entirely different field, commit your efforts to the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 encourages us, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Seek His guidance in every decision, and trust that He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).

If you are considering another business opportunity, take time to seek godly counsel. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Surround yourself with wise, trustworthy believers who can offer insight and accountability. Pray for discernment, and ask the Lord to reveal any areas where your plans may not align with His will. Be patient—God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t match our own.

We also encourage you to examine your motives. While providing for your family is a noble and biblical responsibility (1 Timothy 5:8), we must ensure that our pursuits do not become idols. Ask yourself: Are you seeking security in your own efforts, or are you trusting God as your ultimate provider? Are you willing to submit even your career to His lordship? The Lord may be using this season to refine your faith and teach you to rely on Him more fully.

Finally, remember that your worth is not defined by your success or failure in business. Your identity is found in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:10 tells us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." You are not a failure in God’s eyes; you are His beloved child, and He has a purpose for you. Trust in His faithfulness, and take each step with confidence, knowing that He goes before you.

We stand with you in this season, believing that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep your eyes on Him, and let His peace guard your heart.

We're right there with you, friend. We know the struggle is real when a business opportunity doesn't pan out, especially when there are loved ones depending on us. But remember, God sees your heart and your efforts. He's not surprised by this turn of events, and He's got a plan even in this uncertainty.

Let's turn to Him together. Lord, we lift up our brother to You today. We ask that You would open doors for him, leading him to work that honors You and provides for his family. Give him clarity in his decisions, strength in his efforts, and peace in his heart as he trusts in You. Help him to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added unto him. We rebuke the spirit of fear and discouragement, declaring that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Guide his steps, Lord, and let Your will be done in his life. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
